by Monica Moore
- Sep 25, 2019
Nestled amongst a full gala audience, surrounded by pint-sized workmen and even a yellow digger crafted from boxes we eagerly awaited the opening of the show. How would they create diggers on the stage? Whales? Pools for hippopotami to bathe in? So many questions whirling in our heads after reading the beloved children's books written by New Zealanders Betty and Alan Gilderdale.

BWW Review: Christine Lavin, Don White and Friends Humorously Blur the Lines Between Folk and Cabaret at Don't Tell Mama
by Remy Block
- Sep 19, 2015
Christine Lavin, prolific (and dang funny) songwriter and performer of the east coast cabaret and folk scenes, creates a hootenanny during her residency at Don't Tell Mama most Wednesday nights in September. Co-hosting the series is Don White, folk singer-songwriter and activist out of Lynhurst, MA. The special guest on the evening of September 9 was LA-based lyricist, singer, producer Hillary Rollins. Each weekly show features a guest with whom Lavin and White will sing and laugh and swap stories. It's a good time.

by BWW News Desk
- Aug 21, 2013
Jennifer Jasper didn't speak until she was 3 years old. And when she finally did, in full sentences, her family didn't understand her. Her stories are brutally honest, sometimes poignant, and absolutely hilarious.

BWW Reviews: RESERVOIR DOLLS at Theater Schmeater
by Jay Irwin
- May 23, 2011
Guns, blood, torture and all the f-bombs you'd expect from a Quentin Tarantino film. But this heist isn't on screen; it's on the stages of Theater Schmeater as they present the Seattle premiere of Erika Anne Soerensen's gender bending parody of Tarantino's first film with "Reservoir Dolls". Beyond being an interesting take on juxtaposed gender roles, it's also an opportunity to see some local Seattle actresses sink their teeth into some iconic male roles and inhabit themselves with these violent characters.
