As BroadwayWorld reported last month, Kenneth Joseph 'Ken' Howard, Jr., a Tony and Emmy Award-winning actor and president of the performers union SAG-AFTRA died on March 23rd at his home near Los Angeles. He was 71. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, April 11, 2016 and will be live-streamed at SAGAFTRA.org.

Gabrielle Stravelli -- the celebrated pop/jazz vocalist and songwriter called an "outstanding singer" by The Wall Street Journal and "hotter than the equator" by The Village Voice --will preview her new Willie Nelson tribute at Birdland Jazz Club (315 West 44th Street) on Monday, April 11 at 7:00 PM.

Jazz at Lincoln Center celebrates International Jazz Appreciation Month with a diverse line-up of artists throughout Frederick P. Rose Hall, the "House of Swing." The exciting offerings in April include an homage to Broadway composers with jazz-oriented roots, sets celebrating International Jazz Day and Duke Ellington's birthday, and an historic showcase of Sy Oliver arrangements performed only once in its entirety in nearly 30 years.

Continuing to break all box office records during its National Tour, the smash hit Hershey Felder as Irving Berlin is returning to Chicago for a limited, four-week engagement starting Thursday, April 7, 2016 in Felder's Chicago theatrical home, the Royal George Theatre, 1641 N. Carnegie Hall's season-long 125th anniversary celebration reaches its pinnacle on Thursday, May 5 at 7:00 p.m.- exactly 125 years to the day that the Hall first opened its doors in 1891-when many of the world's most beloved musicians take to the Hall's legendary stage for an all-star gala benefit concert.

Streisand is coming to Cortland!  Not only that, she's bringing her friends Cher, Dolly, Liza, Adele and more when The Dozen Divas arrive at Cortland Repertory Theatre Downtown on Friday and Saturday, April 15 and 16.  Even more amazing, all these divas come wrapped up in one person: international performer and "America's Got Talent" finalist Dorothy Bishop. This multi-talented singer and impersonator will perform her live - not lip-synced - production at the new CRT Downtown theatre at 24 Port Watson Street in Cortland.  Doors will open at 7:00 and the performance begins at 7:30.

Robert X. Modica, acting teacher to Broadway greats, passed away late Saturday, March 14th, 2015. He was 83. A memorial to celebrate Modica's life and legacy will be held today, April 8th, 2016 at The Players, 16 Gramercy Park South in Manhattan.
