Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra Announces Concert Changes Through Mid-June

The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra today announced that, due to ongoing restrictions from public health and government entities related to the coronavirus pandemic, and for its concerns for the health and safety concerns of its patrons, staff and musicians, it is implementing cost-saving measures, and that concerts currently scheduled through mid-June will now be cancelled or postponed.

Witness the unforgettable jazz musician Byron Stripling's electrifying performance in 'Sounds of New Orleans: A Tribute to Louis Armstrong' with the National Philharmonic, led by Maestro Piotr Gajewski, on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 8 p.m. at The Music Center at Strathmore's Concert Hall. Stripling got his start as the lead trumpeter in the Count Basie Orchestra and will perform Armstrong's greatest hits, including his signature version of When the Saints Go Marchin' In. The Philly POPS announced its 40th Anniversary 2018-19 concert season today. Subscriptions for this celebratory 40th Anniversary Season go on sale at 10 a.m. Moe Septee founded the POPS in November 1979 with a concert at the Academy of Music. Celebrated jazz pianist Peter Nero conducted the POPS from 1979 until 2013.

Today, Luther Burbank Center for the Arts (LBC) and the Santa Rosa Symphony announced the rescheduled performance date for What a Wonderful World: A Tribute to Louis Armstrong as Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 3 p.m. The 2017 2018 Symphony Pops series will now kick-off with A Holly Jolly Pops on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at 3 p.m. Tickets for the concert originally scheduled on October 22, 2017 of What a Wonderful World will be honored at the rescheduled performance. New single tickets ($37 $80) will be available for purchase on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 12 p.m. by calling 707-546-3600, online at lutherburbankcenter.org, or at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts ticket office (50 Mark West Springs Road in Santa Rosa).
