The Drama Desk Award-winning Celebrity Autobiography returns to Stage 72 (formerly the Triad Theater (158 West 72 Street) on Monday, January 14 at 7:30pm. The cast is scheduled to include Mario Cantone, Rachel Dratch, Janeane Garofalo, Kristen Johnston, Eugene Pack, Dayle Reyfel, and Alan Zweibel.

Bette Midler to Make Broadway Return in New John Logan Penned One-Woman Play About Sue Mengers?

Michael Riedel reports in today's New York Post that Bette Midler is the top candidate to play legendary Hollywood agent Sue Mengers on Broadway in a new play by Tony-winner John Logan. Riedel reports that 'She's interested in Logan's play - as yet untitled - because, says a source, "a one-person show isn't as risky as shouldering a big musical." That - and the fact that Mengers is a hell of a character.'

The Madison Theatre at Molloy College of Rockville Centre, New York (Angelo Fraboni, Artistic Director), will present a benefit reading of Long Island Express Plays, written by Eugene Pack, on Sunday, October 28, at 3pm. The reading will star Noah Fleiss ("Fringe"), Helen Hanft (Moonstruck), Carol Kane ("Cheers," Princess Bride, "Taxi"), Natasha Lyonne (American Pie, "Weeds"), and Dayle Reyfel (Drama Desk Winner for Celebrity Autobiography).

The Burt Reynolds Institute for Film and Theatre (BRIFT) announced an all day Halloween fundraiser at California Pizza Kitchen (CPK) on Wednesday, October 31st, from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm. CPK is located in the Gardens Mall Food Court on PGA Boulevard in Palm Beach Gardens.

October 5th Named Lake Worth Playhouse Day

On Tuesday, October 2nd at 6pm at the Lake Worth Commission meeting, Pam Triolo, the Mayor of the City of Lake Worth will proclaim October 5th as Lake Worth Playhouse Day. This is a tremendous honor for the Playhouse to have its own day to kick off the 60th season.
Burt Reynolds Institute Announces New Fall/Winter Schedule

The Burt Reynolds Institute for Film & Theatre (BRIFT) recently announced its fall/winter schedule, which includes a new and exciting Writing the Feature Screenplay class for beginning writers on Monday evenings at 6:30 p.m. The class was added due to the popularity of the Advanced Screenwriting class, which is held on Thursday evenings, also at 6:30 p.m. These conception to completion courses allow students to workshop their scripts by having them performed staged reading style by other students. Taught by Shawn Fornari, M.F.A., each two and a half hour class is $20.00.
