Every so often an album comes along that changes not just the rules but the game, opening new possibilities for music. In America in the late 1960s, The Velvet Underground & Nico was one such record. And in Britain, released on June 16, 1972, the self-titled debut album by Roxy Music would be another.

By day he is a council cleaning manager. But Billy Scott has a secret passion which he is about to share with the world. The 50-year-old Liverpool City Council worker is also a talented artist, and now up to 200 of his works are set to go on show in the city's grandest public building, St George's Hall.

World-class rhythm and blues/ boogie-woogie pianist Jools Holland has become a British institution over the last 25 plus years, having achieved worldwide acclaim as host of the immensely popular Later....With Jools Holland on BBC Two Television since its debut in 1992. Holland will now perform live in New York City, his first U.S. performance in more than 15 years, at the legendary Blue Note.

Independent Music Award winner and singer/multi-instrumentalist Sean Kelly has released a video for his new song, 'Syncopation,' which premieres exclusively with Popdose Magazine TODAY, September 15. Watch video HERE.

Well-known for his live performances, George Adrian will release his newest project Road Trip on October 10. George's moody and intricate story-telling will feature a video for the track The Grass is Dying. The first video was directed by collaborator Robert Saitzyk (White of Winter/Godspeed). The introspective track was released recently and can be viewed on YouTube.

Keyboardist-arranger-composer Pete Levin's ninth solo release, Mo?bius, was recorded live in the studio in two days, capturing the 'no boundaries' spirit of Gil Evans. The music explores textural grooves ranging from straight-ahead bop to funk, world-beat, and the experimental.

Progressive rock band Mars Hollow has announced that they will be recording a new album after a nearly 5-year hiatus. The announcement was made during a semi-reunion show and subsequent radio interview in June, and came on the heels of a show billed as “John Baker and Steve Mauk Perform the Music of Mars Hollow” in Chicago.
