Urban Stages' Board of Directors and founding artistic director Frances Hill will hold their annual benefit at the Boathouse in Central Park at 6:30PM on May 18th. This event will honor philanthropist Henry Buhl for his contributions to Urban Stages and the New York Community as the Founder of the Association of Community Employment for the Homeless (ACE). Brilliant singer and actress, KT Sullivan will receive the first Musical Theatre Award for her work with Urban Stages and as director of the Mabel Mercer Foundation which produces the New York Cabaret Convention.

The South Orange Performing Arts Center will host its annual benefit Gala in celebration of the successful completion of its ninth season and receiving the Discover Jersey Arts People's Choice Award for Favorite Small Performing Arts Center in New Jersey on Saturday, May 30, 2015. The festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. and will be held at the Center, One SOPAC Way, South Orange, NJ 07079. The theme of this year's SOPAC Gala is "Arts and Education," which will highlight three honorees for their extraordinary contributions to cultural and educational endeavors in the local community.

There are some shows that are ageless. Kiss Me Kate is one of them. The Cole Porter musical, while 67 years young, still entertains with ease, and Texas State University's current production of it showcases all that makes the show great.
