Since 1978, West Bank Cafe has been one of the epicenters of New York City’s theatre community, and due to the pandemic, it is on the verge of permanently closing. With Broadway dark, tourism down, indoor dining closed, and no relief plan in sight, 2020 has created a plethora of financial problems for the beloved theater district institution.

Mostly Sondheim, the long-running musical theater open mic at The Duplex Cabaret, will celebrate its 10th anniversary on Friday January 23rd at 11:30pm. Hosts Ben Cameron (Wicked, Aida) and Colleen Harris (Songs at the New World), along with musical director Brian Nash (Silence! the Musical), will welcome past hosts, talented regulars, and open mic volunteers to the stage to commemorate ten years of music and comedy.

The Cabaret Showdown is a monthly game show that offers a unique mixture of live karaoke and Jeopardy. Contestants are asked to sing selections from various musical categories listed on the Official Game Board with no knowledge of what the song will be until right before they sing. To level the playing field all songs are popular standards, each contestant is given a copy of the sheet music and accompanied by a live pianist. The winner receives a free booking at UNDER St. Marks for their very own showcase. Whether you are a contestant or in the audience you are guaranteed to have a blast!
