Centenary Stage Company's NEXTStage Repertory's production of Head Over Heels, conceived by & original book by Jeff Whitty, adapted by James Magruder, music & lyrics by The Go-Go's, will finish its run Sunday, May 1. Performances will take place in the Sitnik Theatre of the Lackland Performing Arts Center on the Centenary University campus at 715 Grand Avenue, Hackettstown, NJ.

Boston Playwrights' Theatre announces the in-person return of its annual celebration of new short plays. Boston Theater Marathon XXIV will feature 50 ten-minute plays written by New England playwrights and presented by New England theatre companies. The event will take place in BPT's home theatre on Boston University's West Campus.

After a two-year postponement, the Trisha Brown Dance Company will celebrate its 50th anniversary at The Joyce Theater (May 24-29) with an historical season commemorating Brown’s extraordinary partnership with visual artist Robert Rauschenberg.

This show will run April 21 through May 1 in the Sitnik Theatre of the Lackland Performing Arts Center on the Centenary University campus at 715 Grand Avenue, Hackettstown, NJ.

McCarter has announced new Board Chair W. Rochelle Calhoun and the appointment of five new trustees. Princeton's premiere cultural hub for the performing arts, the organization will expand its scope of leadership expertise and deepen relationships across Central New Jersey and Princeton University in welcoming Elliott Asarnow, James Barrood, Rohit Mehrotra, Neha Desai Shah, and David Walker to the Board, led by President Rochelle Calhoun. 

The Rose Art Museum presents Displaced: Raida Adon's Strangeness on view through July 24, 2022. Born into a multi-faith Palestinian family in the bi-national city of Acre, Israel, Raida Adon is an acclaimed multi-media artist, television, theater and film actress, and director.

In a joint statement from producers Sonia Friedman, Scott Landis, and David Banani, as well as director Michael Mayer, the post, tweeted at 11:54am on Friday, reads, 'Rest in peace, Margaret Styne. Over the years, Margaret Styne has always been a passionate, advocate, supporter, and colleague to all of us working on Funny Girl.'

The 18th Annual Dam Short Film Festival will be presented online as a virtual event offering excellent and diverse programming, filmmaker Q&As, and scheduled virtual events that allow audiences and filmmakers to mix, mingle and learn about these original stories from around the world. The 2022 festival remains COVID-friendly, more accessible, and runs from Feb. 10-14.

Each play will have 1 preview and four performances, and separate Zoom discussion with the cast and directors. The company also hopes to stream the plays for a week following the live performances but have not yet received clearance from the Actor’s Union.

Beginning December 17th at 7:30 PM, pianist Sara Davis Buechner premieres Of Pigs and Pianos — the new one-woman show of her extraordinary life story in music & words. This theatrical & musical evening consists of excerpts from her recently-completed autobiography, illustrated with luminous piano performances, visual imagery & dramatic narration.

Jackie Theoharis will return to Don't Tell Mama LIVE with her one-woman cabaret, 'Quarter-Life Crisis' on Thursday, December 2nd! The show is an evening comprised of songs, love, agony, and celebration of a relatable transition, jam-packed with a few important life lessons, and sprinkled with lots of joy along the way.

Brandeis University sociology professor Morris S. Schwartz inspired millions with his lessons on life and loving in Mitch Albom's breakout memoir, Tuesdays with Morrie, which has been adapted for the stage by Albom and playwright and screenwriter Jeffrey Hatcher (Stage Beauty and Columbo) and will appear as the second play in Theater J's 2021-2022 season.

The Rose Art Museum named Hock E Aye Vi Edgar Heap of Birds (b. 1954, Cheyenne/Arapaho) its 2021-2022 Ruth Ann and Nathan Perlmutter Artist-in-Residence.

Little Girl Blue: The Nina Simone Musical, which made its world premiere at the George Street Playhouse in New Brunswick, New Jersey two and half years ago, is again taking audiences by storm in bucolic Connecticut at Goodspeed by the River.

Due to overwhelming demand, the Cappella Clausura Troubadours 2021 program will continue to stream through August 20th. The groundbreaking work combines poetry from the 12th-14th centuries with music by an eclectic assortment of female composers. The new music was recorded live at Emmanuel Church in Boston

The ancient singer and songwriters are: The Contessa Beatrice de Dia (Southern France 1100’s), Gertrude, Duchesse de Lorraine (northern France 1200’s), Azalais de Porcairages (Southern France 1100’s), Castelloza (Auvergne 1200’s), Clara d’Anduza (Languedoc 1200’s), and the trio of Alais, Iselda and Carenza (possibly Toulouse in the 1200’s).

On Friday, September 10, 2021, the percussion and piano quartet Yarn/Wire will release two albums: Tonband, world premiere recordings of music by Enno Poppe and Wolfgang Heiniger out digitally on WERGO Records, and legendary sound artist and experimental composer Annea Lockwood's Becoming Air.

The concert will feature songs from Eric Sirota's newest musical, A Good Day. The program will also include songs from Sirota's Off-Broadway hit Frankenstein, Your Name On My Lips and Go, My Child. This event is produced by John Lant and Tamra Pica in association with Write Act Repertory.
