The Broadway at Birdland concert series was happy to present singer/actress Aisha de Haas on the historic stage on Monday, November 12.

The beloved R&B songstress, MAURISSA ROSE, has announced her live musical tribute to the beautiful, late jazz singer, PHYLLIS HYMAN.

Boston-based recording artist Alice Howe will perform in concert, joined by special guest Freebo, at The Burren in Somerville, MA this Saturday, November 3, 2018.  The evening celebrates the completion of Alice's forthcoming album, Visions, produced by Freebo and recorded with a band of stellar musicians in Bakersfield California. Opera isn't my go-to art form, I'll admit it.  In fact, I don't know many people who truly appreciate opera music nor do they understand what it actually takes to become a successful opera singer.  It's an art that often goes unnoticed because of the stereotypes that it is long, boring, difficult to understand, unrelatable, and only for old, rich people.  But if music is a universal language, and I truly believe this to be true, then why do we insist that we cannot understand and then listen to all forms of music except for this one?  I recently had the honor of speaking with two artists who are radically trying to change the scene, and make opera music accessible to everyone.

Due to popular demand, Joan Baez will extend her worldwide “Fare Thee Well” 2018 tour into 2019 including a newly confirmed show at Selma, AL's historic Walton Theatre on April 9. The intimate performance will mark Baez's first return to the area since joining Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in Montgomery for the 1965 civil rights march. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the 92-year-old Palace Theatre has received a full facelift of its 2,691-seat auditorium. The first major renovation for the Palace since 1984, the six-month, main-hall makeover included the repair of damaged plaster, new paint in a new color scheme, all-new seats on the main floor, full refurbishment of balcony seats, and installation of a new LED house lighting system in the dome and main chandelier. The first public performance in the fully renovated auditorium will be Grammy-nominated comedian Jim Gaffigan on Friday, November 2.

The Colorado Music Hall of Fame presented by Comfort Dental will host its next induction event Monday, December 3, 2018 at the historic Paramount Theatre. The induction of 97.3 KBCO and legendary concert promoter and artist manager Chuck Morris will be accompanied by a cavalcade of musical appearances from Amos Lee, Todd Park Mohr (Big Head Todd) & The Monsters, Isaac Slade and friends from the Fray, Bill Nershi and members of The String Cheese Incident, Vince Herman and Drew Emmitt from Leftover Salmon, Jeff Hanna and some members of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Leo Kottke along with backing band Chris Daniels & The Kings, plus more surprises to be announced. 

Singer-Songwriter Alana Davis will play select East Coast live dates in in support of her latest release Love Again.  The trek, kicking off today, will hit Washington DC, Boston and her native New York City (Dates below.) Love Again was released May 4th via Cleopatra Records and is Davis' first studio album in thirteen years.
