Nominations for this year's Primetime Emmy Awards were announced today, Thursday, July 19, from the Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre at Television Academy headquarters in the NoHo Arts District of Los Angeles.

It's just been announced that this fall, two-time Tony Award winner AL PACINO will be joined on stage by Tony nominee DAVID HARBOUR, Emmy Award winner RICHARD SCHIFF and Tony nominee JEREMY SHAMOS in the Broadway revival of DAVID MAMET'S acclaimed Pulitzer Prize-winning drama GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS. As previously announced, Tony Award nominee BOBBY CANNAVALE has been cast in the role of Richard "Ricky" Roma.

Second Stage Theatre presents the world premiere musical, DOGFIGHT. The cast features Nick Blaemire (Godspell), Annaleigh Ashford (Rent, Wicked, Legally Blonde), Becca Ayers (The Addams Family, Avenue Q), Steven Booth (Glory Days), Dierdre Friel (Leap of Faith), Adam Halpin (Glory Days), F. Michael Haynie (Carrie), Derek Klena (Carrie), Lindsay Mendez (Godspell, Second Stage's Everyday Rapture), James Moye (Million Dollar Quartet), and Josh Segarra (Lysistrata Jones). Roundabout Theatre Company has just announced a special benefit performance following the smash hit limited engagement of HARVEY on August 5th at 7PM. Roundabout Theatre Company's production of HARVEY, directed by Scott Ellis, was originally scheduled to play its final performance on Sunday, August 5th at 2PM.

L.A. Theatre works has announced ten plays for 2012-13, featuring many actors re-creating their original Broadway roles.

The debut dates for the new seasons of the HBO series BOADWALK EMPIRE and TREME have been confirmed.

The New York Times is reporting that Alec Baldwin will return to Broadway in the Spring of 2013 in a new production of OPRHANS, to be directed by Tony-winner Daniel Sullivan. There is no word yet on a theatre or additional cast members for the production.

President of MTV, Stephen Friedman will also be on hand to accept the Trevor 2020 Award for MTV at "Trevor Live" in New York, (Pier 60, Chelsea Piers). This high-profile annual event benefits the life-saving, life-affirming work of The Trevor Project, providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) teens and young adults. The show will be directed by Tony Award® winner, Michael Mayer. Trevor Live is presented by Audi of America, Pfizer and Wells Fargo and features fun., Stanley Tucci, Debra Messing and Eric McCormack, Anthony Rapp, Thomas Roberts, and many more.

Yesterday, June 4, Broadway veterans united for a fundraiser with President Barack Obama and special guest President Bill Clinton at the New Amsterdam Theater, titled- BARACK ON BROADWAY. Featuring direction by George C. Wolfe, the event was hosted by Margo Lion, Thomas Schumacher, Michael David, Lauren Mitchell, Roger Berlind, and Paul Boskin. Rob Berman was music director and John Guare acted as script consultant.

Broadway vet Kelsey Grammer received a 2012 Critic's Television Choice nomination for his lead role in the Starz drama series 'Boss', while Bobby Cannavale received a nomination for his guest starring role in the ABC comedy 'Modern Family.'

Roundabout Theatre Company has just announced that Tony® Award winner Douglas Hodge will star in a new Broadway production of Cyrano de Bergerac by Edmond Rostand, with a translation by Ranjit Bolt and directed by Jamie Lloyd. Cyrano de Bergerac will begin previews on September 14, 2012 and open officially on October 11, 2012 at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway (227 West 42nd Street). This will be a limited engagement through November 25, 2012. The full cast & design team will be announced soon.
