Tarragon Theatre Presents FLESH AND OTHER FRAGMENTS OF LOVE, Now thru 2/16

Tarragon Theatre presents the English-language premiere of Flesh and Other Fragments of Love by the Governor General Award-winning playwright Evelyne de la Cheneliere whose Bashir Lazhar Tarragon produced in 2008. Directed by the theatre's Artistic Director Richard Rose, Tarragon continues its tradition of presenting English premieres of Quebec plays with a translation by Linda Gaboriau. Both a little bit ominous and a little bit magical, this imaginative and surprising take on married life, love and identity opens tonight, January 15 and runs to February 16 (with previews from January 7) in Tarragon's Mainspace. An imaginative multimedia concert, Tafelmusik's House of Dreams takes the audience on a journey through five homes in five European cities where, in the 17th and 18th centuries, exquisite works by Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, and Marais were performed in intimate settings against a backdrop of private collections of paintings by Vermeer, Canaletto, and Watteau. With narration, projected images of the paintings and homes, and music dynamically performed from memory, House of Dreams recreates the concert experience at the intersection of Baroque music and art.
