Local HIV/AIDS nonprofit Golden Rainbow is accepting talent submissions for the 28th annual "Ribbon of Life" spectacular now through Monday, April 28. The fundraising production, hosted by returning emcees TV personality Chris Saldaña and Edie of Cirque du Soleil's Zumanity, will take place in The Penn & Teller Theater at Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino on Sunday, June 22 at 1 p.m.

Phoenix Theatre of Indianapolis announces Spun. The show opened last night, April 17, 2014 in the Livia and Steve Russell Theatre at the Phoenix, and runs through May 11, 2014. It is directed by Bloomington Playwrights Project Producing Artistic Director Chad Rabinovitz. The show stars Lisa Ermel as Molly and Chris Roe as Jesse. Amas Musical Theatre and The Amas Musical Theatre Lab will present free staged readings of "Cookin! - A Taste of Things to Come," a new musical by Debra Barsha and Hollye Levin, with musical direction by Gillian Berkowitz. Directed by Tony Award nominee Lynne Taylor-Corbett (Swing!), the readings will be held on Monday, May 12th at 1pm & 4pm and Tuesday, May 13th at 4pm at St. Luke's Theatre.

Billy Joel was a surprise guest April 9, 2014 at Glen Cove's Deasy Elementary School in Long Island, sitting in the audience to watch kindergartners through second-graders perform their spring concert, titled 'The River of Dreams: A Billy Joel Tribute.'
