Barbra Streisand to Receive Honorary Doctorate from Hebrew University of Jerusalem, June 17

Legendary American actress, director, singer, producer, composer, philanthropist and activist Barbra Streisand will receive an honorary doctor of philosophy degree from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The ceremony will take place on Monday, June 17, during the 76th Hebrew University International Board of Governors Meeting.

The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel will welcome back Tony Award-Winner Lea Salonga to the Cafe Carlyle for her highly anticipated three-week engagement. Her new program, 'Back to Before,' is a nostalgic repertoire in which she revisits her life as a New Yorker and pays tribute to her favorite ladies-most notably Ella Fitzgerald and her idol, Barbra Streisand. 'Back to Before' will be making its debut at the Cafe Carlyle. Ms. Salonga's engagement at the Cafe Carlyle will run from tonight, May 21st to June 8th.

Houston Symphony and David D'or to Recognize Israel at 65 Years in 5/23 Concert

On May 23, the Houston Symphony, in partnership with the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston, will present a concert at Jones Hall recognizing the 65th anniversary of the founding of the State of Israel. Led by Israeli conductor David Sebba, the acclaimed Israeli singer David D'or will join the Symphony for an evening of pop, classical and traditional Jewish music representative of the cultural richness of Israel.
