New Temptations Musical AIN'T TOO PROUD Extends at Berkeley Rep

Due to an overwhelming demand, Berkeley Rep has announced that the world premiere musical of Ain't Too Proud-The Life and Times of The Temptations will extend for two additional weeks. Originally scheduled to close on October 8, the popular musical will now run through Sunday, October 22.

2013's 'Motown, The Musical' opened Tuesday night for a week's run through August 27 at Starlight Theatre inside Swope Park to a responsive, handclapping, music-swaying, delighted audience. 'Motown' is what old films might call a biopic with music. It tells the story of 'Motown' founder and owner Berry Gordy Junior and his business and personal journey through popular music based in the black experience of mid-20th Century Detroit Michigan.

Last night (21 August 2017) the legendary British athlete Mo Farah met with the West End cast of Motown the Musical having watched the hit show at the Shaftesbury Theatre. He met with the full company of actors including Cedric Neal who plays Berry Gordy (found of the iconic record label), Lucy St Louis who plays Diana Ross and Raphael Higgins-Humes who plays Young Michael Jackson.

Single tickets for the 2017-2018 Broadway in Wilmington series at The Playhouse on Rodney Square will go on sale August 22 at 10:00 a.m. The Broadway series, the third season under the management of The Grand Opera House, includes four week-long productions, THE WIZARD OF OZ, CABARET, DIRTY DANCING: THE CLASSIC STORY LIVE ON STAGE, and MOTOWN THE MUSICAL. The acclaimed musical follows the true life story of Motown founder Berry Gordy Jr. on his journey from featherweight boxer to heavyweight music mogul. The man who founded Motown records in Detroit in 1959 went on to launch the careers of Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye and so many more.
