The 25th annual Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition and 'Women, Music and Diplomacy' All-Star Gala Concert will be presented by the world-renowned Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz, in partnership with Cadillac, this year's Presenting Sponsor, on September 22-23. Through the competition and its numerous educational programs, the Institute is committed to identifying and training the world's leading young jazz musicians who will preserve the traditions of jazz while expanding the music in new directions.

The 57th Annual Obie Awards were given out at a ceremony tonight at Webster Hall in Greenwich Village. The awards were presented by acclaimed stage actors Eric McCormack, Grace Gummer, Hugh Dancy, Jonathan Pryce, Justin Bartha, Leslie Odom Jr., Lily Rabe, Michael McKean, Tonya Pinkins, Topher Grace, and Tracee Chimo.

Nominations in 14 categories were announced today by the Off-Broadway League for the 2012 Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway. This year's ceremony will once again benefit The Actors Fund. The Lortel Awards will be handed out on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at NYU Skirball Center beginning at 7:00pm EST.
Public Theater Extends GATZ Through May 13

The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Patrick Willingham) announced today that it would extend GATZ, the critically lauded theatrical adaptation of
F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby, a final week through Sunday, May 13. Created and performed by Elevator Repair Service, this award-winning theatrical event, directed by John Collins, was originally scheduled to close on Sunday, May 6. Single tickets, beginning at $160, are on sale now.
