THEATRE, in conjunction with The Looking Glass Theatre Space Grant Program, is pleased to announce the return of Simona Berman’s acclaimed JUST SHUT UP & SMILE!, directed by Diana Basmajian. JUST SHUT UP & SMILE! will play a special limited engagement at The Looking Glass Theatre (422 West 57th Street, btw 9th/10th Ave). Performances begin Monday, March 16 and continue thru Friday, April 3.

Brunstetter's OOHRAH Makes European Premiere 3/2

The European Premiere of a new play OOHRAH by Bekah Brunstetter Listen. There's nothin goin down over there. Anybody who's over there is just trainin' the new police. Playin' card games, accidentally settin' flares off and lightin' their own pants on fire. It's not a f**kin' video game, it's not Vietnam, it's California, it's Summer camp.' In Fayetteville, North Carolina, sits one of the South's largest military bases. Practically everybody's somebody is over there. Flight Attendant Abby has finally agreed to settle down with her thoroughly unmilitary fianc?. Her sister Sara is thrilled to have her own husband back home once and for all. But when a mysterious Marine shows up on Abby's red-eye flight, all bets on stability are off. Oohrah! asks how we can remain true to ourselves when the pressures of domestic and military expectation threaten all.

New York: Babel Theatre Project (Geordie Broadwater, Artistic Director, Jeremy Blocker, Producing Director ) continues its 4th season with the premiere of Christmas is Miles Away by Chloe Moss, directed by Geordie Broadwater. Christmas will begin performances on May 1, opening May 4 and will run through May 23, 2009 at the Connelly Theatre (220 east 4th Street).

The world's oldest and largest publisher and licensor of plays, Samuel French Inc., is proud to celebrate its newest release 'Off Off Broadway Festival Plays, 33rd Series' --A collection of winning plays from its acclaimed '2008 Samuel French Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival' on Tuesday, January 27th (5:30- 7PM) at the Drama Book Shop (250 W. 40th Street). The launch celebration will include play readings and appearances by many of the winning authors who will be on hand to sign collection copies. The event is FREE and open to the public. Medicine Show's Cabin Fever Festival To Run Thru February

The Vagabond Theatre Ensemble will be presenting the Cabin Fever Festival throughout the month of February at the Medicine Show Theater (549 West 52nd Street) with their main stage production of THE WENDIGO as the centerpiece. The Cabin Fever Festival was established as an opportunity to create a dialogue among the new voices in our theatrical community. The festival will include a variety of new artistic works from both young emerging artists and seasoned professionals in all artistic fields. Writers, actors, singers and artists in every form have come together in this month long celebration of the arts at a time when theatrical opportunity has become a limited occasion. We are proud to have created a safe environment for new work to thrive. Lost in the wilderness, four hunters venture deep into a world they were never meant to see... Vagabond's mainstage production of THE WENDIGO will run February 5-28, Thursday-Saturday at 8pm and Sunday matinees February 8 & 22 at 3pm with special performances Monday, February 9 & Wednesday, February 25 at 8pm.
