In its 25-year history, New Georges has brought forth an unprecedented generation of women playwrights and directors, providing them with steady artistic support and first or career-transforming productions in New York City. New Georges will celebrate its anniversary season with the World Premiere of Hilary Bettis' Alligator, directed by Elena Araoz, presented in collaboration with The Sol Project this fall, and of Sheila Callaghan and Daniella Topol's collaboratively-created Water at 3LD Art & Technology Center in June of 2017 as part of Water City, a multi-disciplinary art event. 

The Drama League have announced the exceptional stage directors who have been selected as the 2015 Directing Fellows of The Drama League Directors Project: Paul Bedard, Estefania Fadul, Aneesha Kudtarkar, Emily Lyon, Brad Raimondo, Austin Regan, Daniel Rogers, Annie Tippe, Sarah Wansley and Brandon Woolf. In addition, an eleventh fellow has been selected for a brand-new fellowship program, which will be revealed during the 81st Annual Drama League Awards Ceremony, which will be held on Friday, May 15, 2015 at the Marriott Marquis Times Square (1535 Broadway). The Drama League, Tony Award winning-director and Drama League Alumnus, Michael Mayer (Hedwig and the Angry Inch), and Gretchen M. Michelfeld, have chosen Elena Araoz as the first recipient of the newly established Beatrice Terry Artist in Residence Fellowship, named in honor of the late Beatrice Terry, Ms. Michelfeld's partner and alumna of The Drama League Directors Project. An all-star advisory board made the selection after reviewing hundreds of applications with the official announcement made by two-time Tony Award-winner Judith Light and Ms. Michelfeld during last night's 31st Annual Musical Celebration of Broadway Honoring James Earl Jones held at the famed Pierre Hotel (2 East 61st Street).

The Drama League, and Tony Award winning-director and Drama League Alumnus, Michael Mayer (Hedwig and the Angry Inch), announced the establishment of the new Drama League Beatrice Terry Fellowship, named in honor of the late director Beatrice Terry, an alumna of The Drama League Directors Project, during last night's 30th Annual Musical Celebration of Broadway Honoring Neil Patrick Harris, held at the famed Pierre Hotel (2 East 61st Street).

New Georges (Susan Bernfield, Artistic Director; Sarah Cameron Sunde, Associate Director; Jaynie Saunders Tiller, Managing Director), the OBIE Award-winning downtown theater company founded in 1992, will present 'THE GERM PROJECT,' featuring the work of playwrights Kara Lee Corthron (directed by Kara-Lynn Vaeni), Lynn Rosen (directed by Shoshana Gold), Kathryn Walat (directed by Portia Krieger), and Anna Ziegler (directed by Beatrice Terry). The four 'germs' of full-length plays of scope and adventure commissioned by New Georges for this project will be presented together, fully produced, in a cohesive and satisfying ninety-minute intermission-less evening. There will be a connective thread to the pieces that will take place with visuals and storytelling. 'THE GERM PROJECT' will be performed at 3LD Art & Technology Center, 80 Greenwich Street (just south of Rector). Previews will begin on June 11, and the official Opening Night will be Monday, June 20 at 8:00 p.m. Performances will run through July 9.

Vital Theatre Company is pleased to present its twelfth installment of 'Vital Signs,' the company's annual new works festival. The three-part series begins Thursday, November 29 at 7PM, and runs Thursday through Sunday until December 16.

William Shakespeare's Measure for Measure opens at The Pearl Theatre Company on Sunday, March 5th and runs through Sunday, April 9th. Rachel Botchan (Richard III) and Sean McNall (The Gentleman Dancing Master) star and Beatrice Terry (Double Infidelity) directs.
