Merrimack Repertory Theatre to Present Bruce Graham's STELLA AND LOU, 11/29-12/22

Merrimack Repertory Theatre (MRT) brings the romantic comedy Stella and Lou by Bruce Graham to Lowell November 29 - December 22, continuing the theater's 35th season. The play is directed by MRT Artistic Director Charles Towers and will be performed in the recently-renovated Nancy L. Donahue Theatre, located at 50 East Merrimack Street in historic downtown Lowell. The New York Public Library has announced its upcoming free events celebrating its Al Hirschfeld Exhibit 'THE LINE KING'S LIBRARY' at the Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center. The exhibition showcases NYPL's vast collection of Hirschfeld's work on display, honoring the iconic artist's relationship with the library. The show is on view now through January 4, 2014.

Quick Curtains, a collection of five one-act plays by Arthur Miller, Tennessee Williams, William Inge and PercivAl Wilde will perform tonight, November 13th through 17th at the Hudson Guild Theater. Quick Curtains closes out the ten year anniversary season for The Group Theatre Too (Michael Blevins, Artistic Director; Justin Boccitto, Executive Producer). Five directors have been chosen for every one-act, each casting and rehearsing five groups of actors.

Strawdog Theatre Opens New Adaptation of GREAT EXPECTATIONS Today

Strawdog Theatre Company and Interim Artistic Director Hank Boland present a new adaption of Charles Dickens' classic Great Expectations, adapted by Gale Childs Daly and directed by Jason W. Gerace, beginning today, November 11 - December 14, at Strawdog Theatre, 3829 N. Broadway Street. Preview performance tickets are $15 with performances Friday, Nov. 1 and Nov. 8, Saturday, Nov. 2 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 3 at 4 p.m. There is a Preview Party, Saturday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m., with $50 tickets that include access to a post-performance reception. Opening/Press night is Monday, Nov. 11 at 8 p.m. Industry night is Monday, Nov. 18 at 8 p.m. The performance schedule is Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 4 p.m. Single Tickets are $28 and on sale now. Museum of the Moving Image's ongoing series See It Big! presents classic and contemporary films on the big screen in the beautiful Sumner M. Redstone Theater. In November and December, the Museum will showcase 22 films photographed by some of the world's greatest cinematographers, including Gordon Willis, Vittorio Storaro, Vilmos Zsigmond, Nestor Almendros, Raoul Coutard, James Wong Howe, and more. The series, See It Big!: Great Cinematographers, runs from November 8 through December 29, 2013.
