Mother of Modern Acting by Sheana Ochoa, the first biography of Stella Adler, will be released by Applause Books on April 22, 2014.Arthur Miller decided to become a playwright after seeing her perform with the Group Theater. Marlon Brando attributed his acting to her genius as a teacher. Theater critic Robert Brustein called her the greatest acting teacher in America.

Returning to the London stage for the first time in nearly 40 years the inimitable Angela Lansbury reunites with acclaimed director Michael Blakemore to reprise her Tony award-winning Broadway performance as Madame Arcati in Blithe Spirit. Former Times journalist, playwright and author of the recently acclaimed novel The Notes of Doctor Newgate, Alan Franks, will premiere his new play A WORLD ELSEWHERE at Battersea's Theatre503. Set in an Oxford College in 1968, where Alan once studied alongside former US President Bill Clinton, A WORLD ELSEWHERE is a searing examination of the world on the brink of yet another war and the institutional politics of one of England's oldest universities. The production is directed by Sally Knyvette, director of Judgement at Nuremberg at the Tricycle Theatre, and will run from Tuesday 21 January 2014.

Full casting has been announced for Talawa Theatre Company's restaging of the National Theatre production of Errol John's MOON ON A RAINBOW SHAWL. Directed by Artistic Director Michael Buffong, the production welcomes back acclaimed actress Martina Laird (Casualty and Shameless) as Sophie, Jude Akuwudike (The Faith Machine at the Royal Court) as Charlie and Ray Emmet Brown (A Raisin in the Sun at the Royal Exchange) as Prince. The production will begin a UK tour at the New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich on Wednesday 5 February 2014.

Johansson was recently seen in the worldwide box office hit The Avengers. She has also recently wrapped production on the independent film Under The Skin for director Jonathan Glazer (Sexy Beast) playing the lead role and plays Janet Leigh in the upcoming film Hitchcock. She most recently returned to Broadway opposite Benjamin Walker in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.

The Almeida Theatre's five-star production of Ibsen's Ghosts, adapted and directed by Richard Eyre, will transfer to Trafalgar Studios, playing from Tuesday 17 December. Lesley Manville, Jack Lowden, Brian McCardie and Charlene McKenna will reprise their roles and are joined by Adam Kotz as Pastor Manders.
