Digital Theatre+ (DT+), a leading online education platform for English and the performing arts, announces the release of 36 new Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) productions. The first 13 productions will be available on DT+ from 11 December, 2017.
Brooklyn Academy of Music Announces 2018 Winter/Spring Season

Joseph V. Melillo, executive producer of the Brooklyn Academy of Music, today announced programming for the BAM 2018 Winter/Spring Season. The season runs from January 15 through June 23 and includes theater, dance, music, and other live events in the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House, BAM Harvey Theater, and BAM Fisher.

'We that are young Shall never see so much, nor live so long...' 2017 has been dubbed a year of Hamlets (too many, even), with Andrew Scott and Tom Hiddleston both taking on the role. If one play has experienced a renaissance, however, it would surely be King Lear. Indeed, it seems the UK stage will 'never see so much' King Lear as it has in the last twelve months (Timothy West, Antony Sher, Glenda Jackson and Kevin McNally all playing the eponymous King/Queen). Jonathan Munby's production at Chichester Festival Theatre is the latest, which sees Ian McKellen revisit the role he played a decade ago at the RSC.
Royal Shakespeare Company Announces 2018 Summer Season

RSC Artistic Director, Gregory Doran, today announced the Summer 2018 season in Stratford-upon-Avon, and launched the fundraising campaign Stitch In Time for the restoration and redevelopment of the company's historic Costume Workshop.
KING KONG Sells Out Cape Town Run; Return Season Announced

The Eric Abraham and Fugard Theatre production of KING KONG has sold out its Cape Town first run. The show ends at the Fugard Theatre on 2 September before transferring to the Mandela Theatre at the Joburg Theatre in Johannesburg from 12 September until 8 October.

Natalie Simpson (Royal Shakespeare Company's recent productions of King Lear, Hamlet and Cymbeline) joins an eleven-strong cast to play Duchess Rosaura alongside the previously announced Stephen Boxer in THE CARDINAL at Southwark Playhouse. James Shirley's tragic masterpiece, directed by Justin Audibert, plays from 26 April - 27 May with a press performance on 28 April.
