Disney|ABC Television received a total of 39 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, it was announced today by the Television Academy. ABC received 31 nominations; ABC Studios collected 14; and Disney Channels received five.

This morning, Samira Wiley (“The Handmaid's Tale,” “Orange Is the New Black”) and Ryan Eggold (“New Amsterdam,” “BlackKklansman”) announced the nominations for the 70TH PRIMETIME EMMY AWARDS from the WOLFTheatre at the Television Academy's Saban Media Center. 

VH1's Emmy-nominated series 'Martha & Snoop's Potluck Dinner party' season two returns with back-to-back episodes on Wednesday, August 1st at 9PM and 9:30PM ET/PT. TEEN CHOICE 2018, the summer's hottest LIVE show, is back with a brand-new wave of nominees.

The 22nd annual American Black Film Festival (ABFF) returns to Miami from June 13-17, 2018 and continues to showcase quality film and television content by and about people of African descent. ABFF founder Jeff Friday, created the festival in 1997 as a means to channel diverse talent directly into Hollywood, inspired by the belief that Black artists and content creators deserve the same opportunities as their mainstream counterparts. HBO is the founding sponsor of the festival.

Last week the Global Road Entertainment and 51 Minds Entertainment produced feature Beats began filming in Chicago for Netflix. In this urban coming of age drama, the paths of a young musical prodigy (Khalil Everage) with borderline agoraphobia, and a former music manager (Anthony Anderson) who fell from grace, collide on Chicago's South Side, and the unlikely duo must come together to free each other from the demons of their past. Beats is the ultimate ode to Chicago and its hip hop scene, as it illustrates the beating pulse at the heart of the South Side.

Last week the Global Road Entertainment and 51 Minds Entertainment produced feature Beats began filming in Chicago for Netflix.

Brown Sugar, the popular subscription video-on-demand service from Bounce featuring the biggest collection of the baddest African-American movies of all-time, will premiere its first-ever original short film this month.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lizzy Caplan is set to star opposite Octavia Spencer in the upcoming Apple series ARE YOU SLEEPING. Caplan is known for her roles in MEAN GIRLS, CLOVERFIELD, THE CLASS and HOT TUB TIME MACHINE. Read more about the news from The Hollywood Reporter here!

In celebration of the nationwide release of Superfly, in theaters June 13, the 2018 American Black Film Festival (ABFF) will open with the festival's premiere screening of Sony Pictures' Superfly on that same night at the Fillmore Theater in Miami Beach, Florida. Directed by the acclaimed Director X, director of legendary music videos for such artists as Drake and Rihanna, and starring Trevor Jackson (“Grown-ish”), the film's original soundtrack has been curated and produced by Future, who also produces the film with Joel Silver (The Matrix trilogy, Die Hard).

Today, the American Black Film Festival (ABFF) continues its 22-year legacy of providing a platform for diverse storytelling and emerging filmmakers, by announcing the 2018 official selections in all screening categories. The festival returns to Miami Beach, FL from June 13-17. 

TEEN CHOICE 2018TM, summer's hottest event, will return for its 20th consecutive year, airing LIVE Sunday, Aug. 12 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX. TEEN CHOICE 2018 is the summer's only awards show in which teens hold the voting power to select new categories and returning favorites from past TEEN CHOICE shows.
