Christmas will be white in Omaha and Philadelphia this year when The Broadway Dreams Foundation presents White Christmas, a celebratory holiday cabaret featuring performances by Broadway's brightest stars and talented local BDF performers. Each year hundreds of students receive valuable musical theatre training through BDF programs offered in partnership with Omaha Performing Arts and Philadelphia's Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts.

Sterling's Upstairs at Vitello's has set Saturday December 10 and Sunday, December 11 as audition dates for the 6th anniversary of LA's Next Great Stage Star™, it was announced today by producers Michael Sterling and Tony Monsour of Michael Sterling & Associates (www.msapr.net).

The Rat Pack, starring sensational Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr. impersonators Gary Anthony, Andy DiMino and Lambus Dean, returns to Reagle Music Theatre of Greater Boston for one show only on Sunday, November 13 at 2 p.m. in the Robinson Theatre, 617 Lexington Street, Waltham.

Daniel Radcliffe and the stars of Smash were on hand last night, November 6, at the Eighth Annual New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) gala to honor Neil Meron and Craig Zadan for their work in bringing musical theatre to a worldwide, pop-culture audience. Meron and Zadan are represented on Broadway with How to Succeed In Business Without Really Trying and are currently producing the new NBC television drama Smash about the behind-the-scenes creation of a Broadway musical. Philippine Development Foundation USA ('PhilDev') will hold its annual fundraising gala at the prestigious AlIce Tully Hall, Lincoln Center with a concert event entitled 'PhilDev Celebrates Broadway: Suites by Sondheim,' directed by Victor Lirio, on Monday, November 7th, 2011 at 7:30PM. This year they honored Broadway composer Jerry Herman and Guild Hall (East Hampton), both of whom celebrated their 80th birthdays this year. Liz Smith emceed the Jerry Herman tribute and her passionate, loving remarks about her friend included 'It is said by show biz insiders that Jerry is so universal the you just hear a song of his once and you can hum it or sing it. And you probably can't stop. That is pretty damned great. He is universal in the musical theater, the songsmith of modern American life.' Mr. Herman's tribute included performances by James Darrah recreating his role of Ambrose Kemper from the last Carol Channing revival of Hello Dolly singing 'It Only Takes a Moment;' Meredith Patterson and Jeffry Denman performing 'Tap Your Troubles Away' from Mack and Mabel; and Andrea McArdle singing 'If He Walked into My Life Today' from Mame accompanied movingly by nine-year old Kyrian Friedenberg on trumpet.
