Broadway luminary, Seth Rudetsky, returns to Chicago with his hilarious one-man-show Deconstructing Broadway, featuring video and audio clips of memorable and hilarious musical theater moments. Deconstructing Broadway will be presented at the Mayne Stage, 1328 Morse Avenue in Chicago, Friday, November 4 at 8 p.m. Tickets, priced at $40, are now available via the Mayne Stage box office, by calling 773-381-4554, or online at www.maynestage.com.

In Deconstructing Broadway, Seth Rudetsky entertains audiences with his intelligent, insightful, and funny analysis of musical theater performances. Using his own private video and audio collection, Rudetsky deconstructs what is vocally amazing (Patti LuPone in Evita) and what is a vocal travesty (Madonna singing the same material). Gavin Creel, Betty Buckley, Carly Simon, The Pajama Game, Melba Moore, and more, will be deconstructed throughout the evening. Video highlights (and lowlights) also include the short-lived Brady Bunch Variety Hour and Cher performing all of the roles in West Side Story. Deconstructing Broadway is presented by Chicago-based MSG Productions, LLC under producer Missy Greenberg.

Seth Rudetsky is the afternoon Broadway host on Sirius/XM radio and a weekly columnist for Playbill.com. He recently appeared at the Art House in Provincetown, Massachusetts performing his solo show and presenting a Broadway concert series with Christine Ebersole, Andrea Martin, Charles Busch, Adam Pascal and Andrea McArdle. Rudetsky was also featured on the Emmy-Award-winning Kathy Griffin Show on Bravo and starred in They're Playing Our Song opposite Sutton Foster in a benefit for the Actor's Fund. He made his Broadway acting debut as "Sheldon Farenthold" in Roundabout Theater's production of The Ritz directed by Joe Mantello. Rudetsky has also won the title "Funniest Gay Male in NY" at Stand-Up NY and spent two years as a comedy writer on The Rosie O'Donnell Show. As a musician, he has played piano for more than a dozen Broadway shows including Ragtime, Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera and was the on-camera vocal coach on MTV's Legally Blonde: Search for Elle Woods. Rudetsky was also the Artistic Producer/Music Director for the first five annual Actor's Fund Fall Concerts including Dreamgirls with Audra MacDonald and Hair with Jennifer Hudson. An accomplished author, he has written two books The Q Guide to Broadway and Broadway Nights, both in their fourth printing. Broadway Nights was released as an audio book on Audible.com featuring Rudetsky, Jonathan Groff, Andrea Martin and Kristin Chenoweth.
