The 28th Annual Southland Theatre Artists Goodwill Event-S.T.A.G.E.-will presentORIGINAL CAST 3, a musical celebration showcasingartists from theater, television and cabaret performing songs they originated in musical productions, for one-night-only onSaturday, April 28 at 7:30PM. This year, the annual event, which benefits AIDS Project Los Angeles, will return to the Saban Theatre Beverly Hills.

After reigning since 2006 as the most critically acclaimed, award-winning supper club of its kind in the greater Los Angeles area, Sterling's Upstairs at Vitello's will close its doors in Studio City, CA on Sunday, March 18 following its final show headlined by Reba Buhr, co-star of Disney's Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA. Miss Buhr is also a host for the Disney Channel's popular 365 television series. The announcement became official by producer Michael Sterling.

Monsters! A Midlife Musical Meltdown hits the stage at The Regent Theatre, opening next Saturday. Back by popular demand, Monsters! premiered in 2006 in Boston, home to playwright/composer team Gail Phaneuf and Ernie Lijoi.

The legendary Liza Minnelli will once again perform at the LVH - Las Vegas Hotel & Casino (formerly Las Vegas Hilton) May 12 in the LVH Theater. Sue Serio, who works on FOX-TV's "Good Day Philadelphia" as the weather anchor, will have her professional theatre debut in The Media Theatre's production of A. R. Gurney's play "Love Letters" February 29-March 4. The play focuses on just two characters who read the notes, letters, and cards which express their dreams and disappointments that have passed between them throughout their lives-although they have been physically apart for nearly fifty years. Bill Vargus joins Sue Serio in this show that was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize for drama.

The Media Theatre's 2012 fundraising Gala was held Saturday evening February 25. The weather was as supportive as the patrons and attendees, who were treated to a memorable performance by Broadway's legendary Andrea McArdle following a live auction enthusiastically appropriated by Jeffry Cadorette.

Tony Award-winning actress Alice Ripley was the special surprise guest at the Broadway Artists Alliance 2011 Winter Workshop. Ripley had a Q&A with the students of Broadway Artists Alliance. She surprised the students with a performance of her new single 'Beautiful Eyes,' and a song from Next to Normal.

P. Brendan Mulvey, who has appeared in The Media Theatre's Titanic and Show Boat, will be given the Walter M. Strine Award at the theatre's annual Gala on Saturday evening, February 25. The annual award, named after the entrepreneur who revitalized the theatre in 1994 so that a professional music theatre would be a cornerstone of Media borough, will be given to Mulvey prior to the celebratory evening's concert by legendary Tony nominee Andrea McArdle. The honor is given to an individual who keeps the spirit of Mr. Strine alive with their consistent support and advocacy of The Media Theatre.
