Since 2011, Two River Theater has introduced new voices from across the country to their annual Crossing Borders (Cruzano Fronteras) Festival of new plays by Latinx playwrights. This year’s playwrights explore stories about family history, computer science, teens navigating the “new normal”, and a makeshift family arriving at the cusp of the 22nd century.

This September, fans of the much-lauded playwright Maria Irene Fornes will have an opportunity to see a fully realized production of one of her 'compact masterpieces' (The Los Angeles Times) when Boundless Theatre Company presents a revival of her play The Conduct of Life.

Boundless Theatre Company (Maria-Cristina Fuste, Executive Artistic Director) announces full casting for its revival of The Conduct of Life by acclaimed Cuban-American playwright, Maria Irene Fornes. Directed by Elena Araoz, the production will run from September 7 through September 30 at Teatro Circulo, located at 64 East 4th Street. The opening is set for Saturday, September 15. 

Garth Greenan Gallery has announced a special one-night-only reading of Sweet Tooth, a play by Rosalyn Drexler, directed by Dustin Wills, as part of the ongoing exhibition Rosalyn Drexler: Occupational Hazard.

USELESS, Saviana Stanescu's dark-humored drama about human trafficking, ends its limited run at IRT Theater, downtown Manhattan. The production directed by Jose Zayas, starring Ana Grosse, Andy Phelan, and Steven Rishard, featured creative work by designers: Susan Zeeman Rogers (Set), Ryan O'Gara (Lighting), David Margolin Lawson (Sound), and Lisa Renee Jordan (Costumes). A team of independent producers and a multicultural group of artists have joined forces with Kori Rushton and IRT's Residency Season to bring to life a new play: Useless by Romanian-born playwright Saviana Stanescu. The production is directed by Jose Zayas and features Ana Grosse, Andy Phelan and Steven Rishard.

Attending the 13th Annual Hispanic Organization of Latin Actors (HOLA) Awards presented by Delta Air Lines tonight, October 8, 2012 will be SAG-AFTRA elected leadership reps that include national SAG-AFTRA Co- President, Roberta Reardon and national SAG-AFTRA Co-Treasurer and Co-Secretary, Amy Aquino. Also joining the celebration will be Tony Plana, Tony Shalhoub, Brooke Adams and CNN's Jane Vélez-Mitchell. A special tribute to the late Lupe Ontiveros will be given by Latin Heat Editor and co-host of 'HOLA L.A.' Bel Hernández. WeildWorks' New York Premiere of Fêtes de la Nuit, Charles L. Mee's sexy meditation on lust, beauty and the divine experience of love, will end its run on Saturday, February 27.
