LITTLE DANCER's Tiler Peck to Join Broadway's ON THE TOWN For Six Shows Next Week

New York City Ballet principal dancer Tiler Peck will step into the role of 'Ivy Smith' in the new Broadway revival of On The Town this March for six performances only, while her fellow New York City Ballet principal dancer, and sister-in law, Megan Fairchild is on vacation. Peck will play the role at the following performances: March 3rd at 7pm, March 4th at 2pm and 8pm, March 14th at 2pm and 8pm, and March 15th at 3pm.

In a career spanning more than four decades, the contemporary American choreographer Karole Armitage has been celebrated for blurring the boundaries between dance, music and art. Inspired by disparate, non-narrative sources—from 20th century physics, to 16th century Florentine fashion, to pop culture and new media—the classical dance vocabulary, in her hands, is given a needed shock to its system with speed and fractured lines, abstractions and symmetry countermanded by asymmetry.

ABT Studio Company and JKO School to Perform at Pace, 3/13-14

American Ballet Theatre's Studio Company and the ABT Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School will appear at the Michael Schimmel Center for the Arts at PACE University in New York City, March 13 – 14, 2015. The Studio Company will give one performance on Friday, March 13 at 7:30 PM and the ABT JKO School will give two performances on Saturday, March 14 at 2:00 PM and 7:30 PM.

St. Louis will celebrate ballet legend Miss Alexandra Zaharias this weekend, February 21-22 with A Sapphire Celebration and the masterpiece of the Romantic Era, GISELLE, at the Blanche M. Touhill Performing Arts Center. The Today, February 21st celebration will include cocktails and hors d'oeuvres with alumni followed by a World Premiere viewing of the documentary tribute: Miss A. Principal Pops Conductor Jack Everly leads the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in performances of Singin' in the Rain,Thursday, March 26, at 8 p.m. at The Music Center at Strathmore and Friday, March 27, at 8 p.m., Saturday, March 28, at 8 p.m., and Sunday, March 29, at 3 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. Ranked by the American Film Institute (AFI) as the No. 1 movie musical of all time, Singin' in the Rain stars Gene Kelly, Donald O'Connor and Debbie Reynolds, and features a lighthearted portrayal of iconic dance and memorable songs, including "Make 'em Laugh," "Fit as a Fiddle" and more. Washington Ballet to Host World Premiere of SLEEPY HOLLOW, 2/18

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Washington Ballet is pleased to announce casting and libretto for the world premiere of Septime Webre's Sleepy Hollow, Wednesday, February 18 - Sunday, February 22, 2015 at the Kennedy Center's Eisenhower Theater. The Company will be joined by guest artist, Xiomara Reyes, a principal dancer at American Ballet Theatre who will premiere the role of Katrina Van Tassel. Reyes studied at Cuba's National Ballet School. Prior to joining ABT, she danced as a First Soloist at the Royal Ballet of Flanders. Reyes joined American Ballet Theatre as a Soloist in 2001 and was promoted to Principal Dancer in 2003. Her awards include the Gold Medal for the Best Soloist at the International Ballet Competition of Chiclayo, Peru (1996), Best Couple Prize at the XIV International Ballet Competition in Varna (1990) and Silver Medal at the Cinquienne Concours International de Danse de Paris (1992).

A new royal partnership is being forged: Michele Wiles, one of ballet's most celebrated Swan Queens, and Jay Donn, the reigning king of Punchlines, a form of Brooklyn-based flex dancing. The result is 'Something Sampled,' one of three world premieres on the boards for BalletNext's season, 'Baroque'd,' at New York Live Arts, today, February 10 through February 14.
