Patti Austin to Perform with BSO, 2/19-22

Grammy and Oscar award-winning vocalist ?Patti Austin returns to the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra for a performance devoted to the brilliance of Washington, DC native Duke Ellington and 'The First Lady of Song,' Ella Fitzgerald, Thursday, February 19 at 8 p.m. at The Music Center at Strathmore, and Friday, February 20 at 8 p.m. Saturday, February 21 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, February 22 at 3 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall.

An evening of duets will take a unique twist as fiery violinist Charles Yang joins Marcelo Gomes, the Brazilian-born principal dancer for American Ballet Theatre, in an explosive performance at Dance from the Heart on Monday, January 26 at 7:30pm at Joyce Theater, 175 Eighth Avenue (at 19th Street).

Baltimore, Md. (January 12, 2015) — The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) Principal Pops Conductor Jack Everly will lead the BSO SuperPops in a concert featuring actor and Broadway star Jason Alexander, Thursday, January 22 at 8 p.m. at The Music Center at Strathmore, and on Friday, January 23 at 8 p.m., Saturday January 24 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, January 25 at 3 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. Best known for his iconic portrayal of George Costanza on the hit series “Seinfeld,” Alexander first had a successful and lengthy Broadway career. He joins the Orchestra to reminisce about his remarkable and versatile career on the stage and screen, performing songs from several Broadway favorites, including Music Man, Pippin and Merrily We Roll Along. Segerstrom Center for the Arts has expanded its 2015 Off Center Festival to include two Parties-on-the-Plaza (POP) Saturday, January 24 and Friday, January 30. The first POP will feature Orange County rocker Nick Waterhouse. On January 30, the party continues with the cumbia, afrobeat, trad funk fusion of Jungle Fire and the cold-blooded blend of deep soul, rare funk, and afro- disco (with a raw rock star edge!) of Orgone.

American Ballet Theatre returns to Segerstrom Center with the World Premiere of the classic ballet The Sleeping Beauty as choreographed by Artist in Residence Alexei Ratmansky. ABT's return to Orange County from March 3 - 8 marks the company's 23rd visit to the Center.

KANSAS CITY, MO (January 6, 2015) — Artistic Director Devon Carney today announced the choreographers chosen for New Moves, a unique performance event designed to search out, develop and showcase emerging choreographers, both from the national dance scene as well as locally within Kansas City Ballet. New Moves is presented to provide time and space for choreographers to create world premiere works with accomplished professional dancers. New Moves will feature choreographers Robert Dekkers, Andrea Schermoly and Kelly Ann Sloan, plus Kansas City Ballet artists Ryan Jolicoeur-Nye, Travis Guerin and Jill Marlow.

Broadway's ON THE TOWN Bumps Two-Disc Cast Album Release to March
