For the fourth year in a row the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) has exceeded 1 million visitors, with a record attendance of 1.4 million across this last financial year (June 2014 to June 2015).

ROBERTO VILLANUEVA, Executive & Artistic Director and Founder of BalaSole Dance Company, presents the 16th concert season of BalaSole in 'SALMAGUNDI,' a new program of solos in a broad range of dance styles, music choices and artistic voices, on July 17 & 18, 8PM, at Ailey Citigroup Theater, 405 West 55 Street.

The New York Dance and Performance Awards (The Bessies), New York City's premier dance awards honoring outstanding creative work in the field, today announced the nominees for the 2014-15 season at its annual press conference. The 37 nominees were selected by the Bessies Selection Committee, an independent committee of 39 dance industry professionals. Produced in partnership with Dance/NYC, Bessie Award categories include Outstanding Production, Outstanding Revival, Outstanding Performer, Outstanding Music Composition or Sound Design, and Outstanding Visual Design. The American Theatre Wing has just announced new appointments to its Board of Trustees and Advisory Committee, BroadwayWorld has learned.

Rising young choreographer CLAUDIA SCHREIER will present a program of her works, including three World Premieres, featuring dancers from New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Dance Theatre of Harlem and more.  The program will also feature an original commissioned score by multi-Emmy Award-winning composer JEFF BEAL (House of Cards), performed live by string trio and piano, and the 20-member choir TAPESTRY.  One night only, August 8, 7:30 PM, at the Ailey Citigroup Theater, Ninth Avenue & 55th Street.  

Simon Wexler of American Ballet Theatre will be on the faculty for the Shreveport Dance Academy's Summer Program from July 20-24, 2015. The Shreveport Dance Academy is located in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Kevin Malony and Joseph A. Berger, producers of the return summer engagement of LYPSINKA! THE BOXED SET, announce that the run will be canceled due to an injury sustained by star John Epperson.

New Adventures are delighted to announce that international ballet superstar, Marcelo Gomes will guest star as 'Luca', the title role in the internationally acclaimed and multi-award winning dance thriller 'THE CAR MAN' during the four week summer season at Sadler's Wells from tonight 14 July to 9 August 2015.

No other ballet dancer has received more publicity than Misty Copeland during the last five years. Her promotion to principal dancer of American Ballet Theatre was announced on June 30, 2015, and picked up immediately by most newspapers and television news shows, including the front page of the New York Times. This long awaited announcement eclipsed the simultaneous promotion of ABT soloist Stella Abrera, another great talent, to principal, who has been waiting longer than Copeland for her promotion.

In its on-going effort to share the joy of dance with a wider audience, the 2015 Summer Intensive Program at American Repertory Ballet's Princeton Ballet School is pleased to announce that its Master Classes will be open to observers. Leading Master Classes will be Broadway dancer Michael Mindlin, New York City Ballet dancer Unity Phelan, and Sarah Hay, a soloist with Semperoper Dresden Ballet. All three received their early training at Princeton Ballet School.

Final performances for American Ballet Theatre's New York Summer Intensive Program are scheduled for Friday, July 24, 2015 at 12 P.M. and 2 P.M. at Frank Sinatra School of the Arts in Astoria, New York. The performances mark the conclusion of ABT's 20th annual New York Summer Intensive, a five-week training program for dancers ages 12 to 22.

This year's event will take place at Chicago's top downtown venues - the Harris Theater for Music and Dance, the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Jay Pritzker Pavilion at Millennium Park - August 25-29, 2015.

Highlighting the season will be the New York City Premiere of a new work by Mark Morris and the Company Premieres of Frederick Ashton's Monotones I and II, George Balanchine's Valse-Fantaisie and AfterEffect by Marcelo Gomes. The 2015 Fall season at the David H. Koch Theater, October 21 through November 1, marks the conclusion of ABT's 75th Anniversary celebration.
