At 5:30pm tonight, January 19, 2017, at sunset the eve of the Inauguration, more than 500 theaters, ensembles and companies, high school and university theater programs will gather across the country to light a light and make a pledge to stand for and protect the values of inclusion, participation, and compassion for everyone - regardless of race, class, religion, country of origin, immigration status, (dis)ability, gender identity, or sexual orientation.

Segerstrom Center Of The Arts To Offer Dance And Music Lessons For Children With Disabilities

As part of its expanded commitment to serving the community, Segerstrom Center for the Arts will offer a series of inclusive dance and music classes for children ages 4 through 12. These programs are specially designed for children with disabilities such as Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorders, audio and visual impairments and other complex needs, however all children are welcome.
George Saunders, Misty Copeland, Tracy Martin to Headline Chicago Humanities Festival This Winter

The Chicago Humanities Festival has announced that Chicago-area native and short story master George Saunders, Misty Copeland, the first African American woman to be the principal dancer with the American Ballet Theatre, and Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin, parents of Trayvon Martin, will headline CHF's Winter line-up with programs in February and March.
