The Thurnauer Chamber Music Society, the ensemble in residence at the JCC Thurnauer School of Music since 1992, will open its 19th season with The Viennese Tradition: Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of Fritz Kreisler's Death.

The SHIRAH Community Chorus on the Palisades, led by Matthew Lazar, founding director and conductor, will perform its 2011 Chanukah Concert on Sunday, December 11 at 3 p.m. in the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades' (411 East Clinton Avenue) Taub Auditorium.

The orchestra's Los Angeles appearance is the final stop on its five-concert tour of California this month.
