Adam Overett's new musical The Double-Threat Trio gets first full workshop presentation with the University of Oklahoma Weitzenhoffer School of Musical Theatre at Norman's historic Sooner Theatre on Saturday, September 24th at 11am. Admission is free.

David Perlman (Baby It's You!, Yank!, Madagascar Live!, and other shows without exclamation points) returned to Feinstein's/54 Below last week for his solo concert debut of MOSTLY FUNNY SONGS. The show featured guest star Natalie Weiss (Breaking Down the Riffs, Les Miserables, Everyday Rapture). On Monday, June 27, A LITTLE NEW MUSIC debuted in its new venue, the historic Catalina Jazz Club, showcasing the best of new musical theatre songwriting with an incredible cast of Broadway and LA talent. Comedian, actress, and writer Chris Farah ('Superstore,' 'Modern Family,' 'Chelsea Lately,' solo show/cult character FANCY!) hosted the evening alongside the ALNM band (Will Yanez, Eliana Athayde, and Alex Stickels) and resident musical director Bryan Blaskie.

To end its third season of American musical theatre concerts and shows in Paris, Broadway au Carre has invited the up-and-coming songwriter Adam Overett to come from New York and prepare the world-premiere showcase of his brand-new show Double-Threat Trio.

A Little New Music (ALNM), now at the renowned Catalina Bar & Grill, invites Los Angeles to discover something new to love about musical theater. The Monday, June 27th concert marks ALNM's twelfth collaboration with emerging musical theater creators and performers from near and far.

Kicking-off Adirondack Theatre Festival's (ATF) 22nd summer season of professional theatre is ISLAND SONG. Performances will be held at the Charles R. On May 2nd, The 24 Hour Company® is teaming with The Exchange, an off-Broadway theater company, to create the eighth annual The 24 Hour Musicals to be held at the Highline Ballroom. A team of more than 100 - including stars from Broadway, film, television, and music - will cast, write, compose, direct, rehearse, tech, and perform four original musicals - all in the obscenely short time between an evening meet-and-greet on Sunday, May 1st and show time on Monday, May 2 at 8pm. The event benefits the Exchange's summer program, The Orchard Project, which incubates and accelerates innovative new theatrical work from around the world.

This year's BROADWAY BACKWARDS (#broadwaybackwards) took the stage last night at Broadway's Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street, NYC), home to the Tony Award-winning Best Musical Kinky Boots. The evening is produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and benefits BC/EFA and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center of New York. The Bingham Camp Theatre Retreat (BCTR) will be presenting  a private industry reading of "Call It Courage" a new musical based in the novel by Armstrong Sperry. Book, Music & Lyrics by Adam Overett. The presentation will be directed by BCTR founder Devanand Janki and will take place March 17th & 18th in New York at The Stella Adler Studio of Acting.
