Mario Lopez will be making his Broadway Debut in the musical A Chorus Line on April 15th. Mr. Lopez is an 'Extra TV' host and was a finalist on 'Dancing with the Stars'. His first performance will be on Tuesday April 15th, 2008 and he is scheduled to run until Sunday, September 7, 2008. He will be on hiatus from the show from Sunday, May 11, 2008 through Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008.

Producers Randall L. Wreghitt, Chris Presley and Ellen Rusconi announced today that PURE COUNTRY, a brand-new original musical, will have its World Premiere as part of the 2008-2009 Broadway Season.

Mario Lopez will be making his Broadway debut Tuesday, April 15, in A CHORUS LINE. He is taking over the role of Zach, the demanding director who is casting the chorus roles for a new Broadway Musical.

The new season on Broadway will begin with fireworks the day after July 4th when the musical [title of show] begins previews at the Lyceum Theatre (149 W. 45 St) on Saturday, July 5th prior to its official opening night on July 17th. [title of show] -- a most original American musical about the making of an original musical -- will be produced on Broadway by Kevin McCollum, Jeffrey Seller, Laura Camien, Roy Miller, Kris Stewart and The Vineyard Theatre, where [title of show] had its Off-Broadway debut in 2006.

It was announced today that Broadway's 'mega- hit' (Wall Street Journal) LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL, will kick off its first national tour in Rhode Island at The Providence Performing Arts Center, PPAC on September 23, 2008.

The residents of AVENUE Q will appear on Food Network's popular television program ACE OF CAKES on the March 27, 2008 episode at 10:30 PM ET. While at Baltimore's Hippodrome Theatre, the cast and crew of Ace of Cakes and the cast and crew of the touring production of AVENUE Q filmed an episode of Ace of Cakes during which Chef Duff Goldman unveiled a customized AVENUE Q cake that depicts the Tony Award-winning musical's characters. To see the AVENUE Q cake tune into Food Network on Thursday, March 27 at 10:30 PM EST! (The national tour of AVENUE Q will be playing at the Fox Theater in Atlanta on March 27.) Ace of Cakes, a primetime series airing on Food Network, chronicles the misadventures of Chef Duff Goldman. He has created everything from a three-foot buttercream sculpture of Elvis to a massive edible replica of Wrigley Field. In The Heights officially opened on Sunday, March 9, 2008 on Broadway at the Richard Rodgers Theater. With music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, book by Quiara Alegría Hudes, and conceived by Lin-Manuel Miranda, In The Heights is directed by Thomas Kail and choreographed by Andy Blankenbuehler.

It is Theatre Development Fund's belief that future audiences are built by engaging students, first-hand, in the vital and exciting activity of the creative process, as well as providing opportunities to see live performances of great theatre. To that end, 1,000 New York City high school students from Manhattan, Brooklyn, and The Bronx who are participating in TDF's Stage Doors Program will be attending the new Broadway musical, In The Heights on Wednesday, May 12 at 2pm at the Richard Rodgers Theatre.

On Saturday, February 2 Nina Söderquist was crowned as the new Lady of the Lake for the hit West End Musical Monty Python's Spamalot. Having won TV3's 'West End Star,' going head to head with Linda Holmgren in the Swedish live TV final, Nina received over 59% of the votes from the viewing public declaring her the winner. Söderquist will have her first performance as The Lady of the Lake at the Palace Theatre on Monday February 11, 2008

Mike Nichols returns to Broadway this spring to direct Morgan Freeman, Frances McDormand and Peter Gallagher in Clifford Odets's The Country Girl. The production will play a limited engagement on Broadway at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre (242 West 45th Street) beginning Thursday, April 3 and open on Sunday, April 27.

After a six month search in Sweden the two finalists - Linda Holmgreen and Nina Soderquist - will perform live in TV3's 'West End Star' series finale this Saturday 2 February, battling it out to win the holy grail of prizes: the role of The Lady of the Lake in the West End production of Monty Python's Spamalot.

Alan Dale, best know on television for playing Publishing mogul Bradford Meade in Ugly Betty, will join the London cast of Monty Python's Spamalot at the Palace Theatre from 3 March 2008 to play King Arthur, following in the footsteps of Tim Curry, Simon Russell Beale and Peter Davison (who continues in the role until 1 March 2008). Currently playing to packed houses at the Palace Theatre the award-winning and record-breaking Monty Python's Spamalot is booking until 27 September 2008.

Monty Python's Spamalot welcomed two new stars in their Broadway debut at the Shubert Theatre on Friday, January 18: Recording-artist and 'American Idol' runner-up, Clay Aiken as Sir Robin and Hannah Waddingham as The Lady of the Lake, direct from her starring role in the West End.
