Jimmy Nail is a BAFTA-nominated English actor, singer, musician and writer. His first TV role, as 'Oz' in "Auf Wiedersehen, Pet" (1983-2004) brought public and critical acclaim. Nail went on to create, produce and star in two hugely successful UK TV series, "Spender" (1990-94) and "Crocodile Shoes" (1994-97). After playing Agustin Magaldi alongside Madonna and Antonio Banderas in Alan Parker's feature film, Evita (1996) he co-starred as Les Wickes in Brian Gibson's Still Crazy (1998).
He has released a number of albums including 1991's 'Growing Up In Public,’ and 1995’s multi-platinum 'Crocodile Shoes'. His television series have received five BAFTA nominations, a Golden Globe nomination, and an Ivor Novello nomination. "Auf Wiedersehen, Pet" was voted Most Popular British Drama Series of the Decade by ITV viewers.
In 2005 Nail's autobiography, A Northern Soul, was published by Penguin and in 2008 Nail created and starred in "Parents of the Band," a comedy series for BBC1.
Today we rewind to 2013, when Sting was preparing to bring The Last Ship to Broadway. The Last Ship played for 105 performances at the Neil Simon Theatre, where it opened on October 26.

This past weekend, Sting brought the THE LAST SHIP home to Tyneside, where the musical is set, performing its score, concert-style, at the town's premiere music venue, Sage Gateshead, for three sold-out shows.
