Helen Simoneau Danse announces summer performances in St. Louis, MO; Durham, NC; and Miami, FL. Featuring the world premiere of Delicate Power at the American Dance Festival on June 23, 2022, Helen Simoneau Danse will then perform two engagements at South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center: first as part of Dimensions Dance Theatre of Miami on July 16 & 17, 2022, and later at the Center's Lab Theater on August 5-7, 2022. In addition, Helen Simoneau Danse will premiere a new duet at Dance St. Louis on May 27, 2022, and Simoneau is also being commissioned by both Charlotte Ballet and Oregon Ballet Theatre for their upcoming 22/23 seasons. Gibney Company, a new contemporary dance company, will make its debut at The Joyce Theater in New York City, November 2-7 2021, with a program of three world premieres. The 12-member Gibney Company is a creation-based repertory company that commissions work from internationally renowned and emerging choreographers.

Michele Wiles, Director/Dancer/Choreographer, has opened her newest incarnation of BalletNext at New York Live Arts. Having attended Wednesday, February 20th , I couldn't resist returning onFriday, February 22nd, to see Maria Kowroski perform. This years' company includes eight dancers chosen from the dancers at the University of Utah, School of Dance (U of U), where Wiles has been teaching and choreographing periodically since the spring of 2018. Also on the program was Amar Ramasar, partnering Wiles or Kowrowski (on Thursday and Friday) in a pas de deux from acclaimed choreographer Mauro Bigonzetti's Bachground .

Now in its 32nd season, Link Up is the longest-running school program of Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Institute (WMI). Designed for students in grades 3–5, the program facilitates deeper connections between the concert hall and the classroom through an instrument-focused curriculum that culminates in an annual participatory concert. This month marks the inaugural concerts of The Orchestra Swings—the first new Link Up curriculum since 2012—designed to introduce the idea of “swing” through a conversation between the symphony orchestra and a jazz septet. The nearly 15,000 New York City-area students and teachers who have adopted this program during the 2016–2017 school year will travel to Carnegie Hall for six culminating concerts in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage on May 23, 24, and 25.
