The St. Charles Singers will launch a new community outreach initiative with a pair of 'Choral Connections' concerts, featuring vocal ensembles from six suburban Chicago high schools. The concerts will showcase the talent of the St. Charles Singers and the student choruses, culminating in a joint performance.
The St. Charles Singers, led by founder and music director Jeffrey Hunt, will conclude its decade-long Mozart Journey project with concerts August 27 and 28, 2022, in St. Charles, Illinois, featuring two of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's most beloved sacred choral works, a famous opera aria, and a dramatic early symphony.
While not exactly a moment of déjà vu, I did feel a sense of the familiar while listening to director Saheem Ali's new podcast production of Anne Washburn's provocative play of Trump-era liberal ideology, SHIPWRECK, subtitled 'a History Play about 2017'. It was followed almost immediately by an internal debate as to whether or not it was okay to mention in in this review.

In 1647 England, power is shifting and, amid the chaos and confusion, revolutionaries across the country are dreaming of a new future.

Nicola and Managing Director Jeremy Blocker) announced today a one-week extension for LIGHT SHINING IN BUCKINGHAMSHIRE, by NYTW Usual Suspect and five-time Obie Award winner Caryl Churchill (Love and Information; A Number) directed by NYTW Usual Suspect, Tony Award nominee, & three-time Obie Award winner Rachel Chavkin (Hadestown; Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812). LIGHT SHINING IN BUCKINGHAMSHIRE, NYTW's eighth collaboration with Churchill, began previews on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, and will open Monday, May 7 at New York Theatre Workshop (79 E. 4th Street New York, NY 10003). LIGHT SHINING IN BUCKINGHAMSHIRE, which was originally scheduled to close on Sunday, May 27, will now run through Sunday, June 3, 2018.
