Sky Arts will broadcast a new documentary Cameron Mackintosh - The First 50 Years on Monday 27 December 2021 at 7pm, a two-hour programme featuring Mackintosh’s life as a producer told through his own eyes and those of his friends and colleagues including his most famous writer collaborators.

After nearly a decade since the last UK tour sold out within days, Cameron Mackintosh is delighted to announce that his acclaimed Broadway production of Boublil and Schonberg's musical 'LES MISERABLES' will open at Curve Leicester for a season from Saturday 3 - Saturday 24 November 2018 (press night 14 November 2018 ), before playing the Bord Gais Energy Theatre, Dublin (5 December 2018 - 12 January 2019), Festival Theatre Edinburgh (22 January - 16 February 2019) and Manchester Palace Theatre (19 February - 30 March 2019). Unstoppable West End impresario Cameron Mackintosh will not be leaving his business to his family after his death, according to a recent interview with the Financial Times. The company -- Cameron Mackintosh Limited -- will instead go to his foundation, but with one huge caveat: The organization will not be able to create new productions.
BroadwayWorld has just learned that Cameron Mackintosh's current Broadway revival of Claude-Michel Schonberg & Alain Boublil's legendary musical LES MISERABLES will end its acclaimed run on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at the Imperial Theater (239 West 45th Street). The current Broadway version of LES MISERABLES is the only production of the musical currently playing in North America and stars Alfie Boe, the acclaimed star of the London 25th Anniversary Concert, as Jean Valjean through February 28. John Owen-Jones, who is currently starring as The Phantom in Mackintosh's London production of The Phantom of the Opera, and has played Valjean both on Broadway (in 2007) and in London, will succeed Boe in the role beginning March 1 for the duration of the show's Broadway run. This new production of the musical will have given 1,026 performances over two-and-a-half years. In total, since the 1987 opening of the original production, LES MISERABLESwill have played 8,202 performances on Broadway.

Acclaimed British actor Earl Carpenter will return to the role of Javert in Cameron Mackintosh's new production of Claude-Michel Schonberg & Alain Boublil's LES MISERABLES beginning Tuesday, May 12 at Broadway's Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street). Will Swenson will give his final performance as Javert Sunday, May 10. Carpenter performed the role on Broadway last summer while Swenson was on hiatus from the production for another project.

British actor Earl Carpenter's start date in Cameron Mackintosh's new production of Claude-Michel Schönberg & Alain Boublil's LES MISERABLES in the role of Javert has been pushed to Friday, August 15 due to visa issues, it was confirmed today.
As BroadwayWorld previously reported, John Behlmann, Melissa Errico and Will Swenson will star in BULL DURHAM, the new musical based on the beloved 1988 film, which Sports Illustrated proclaimed the '#1 Greatest Sports Movie of All-time.' BULL DURHAM will premiere at the Alliance Theatre on September 3, and will run until October 5. Swenson, who will play '"Crash" Davis', will appear in the new musical while on hiatus from the Broadway revival of Les Miserables, where he currently stars as Javert. Swenson will be gone July 22- October 5. A replacement has not yet been announced.
