BWW reports on the upciming cacaret/concert of songs by musical theatre songwriters Eyles and Gould at The Pheasantry on June 12.

The Stephen Sondheim Society Student Performer of the Year and The Stiles & Drewe Best New Song Prize 2015 will take place at the Garrick Theatre in London on Sunday 17th May, 3pm. Special Guest Performer and Judge is Elaine Paige with Michael Xavier serving as host.

Cast members Emma Odell ( Stephen Sondheim Society Student Performer OfTheYear [SSSSPOTY] finalist 2009), Kris Olsen ( SSSSPOTY Winner 2012), Corrine Priest (SSSSPOTY Winner 2014) and Jay Worley ( SSSSPOTY finalist 2014) showcase a range of songs from Jonathan Larson (Sunday) and Andrew Lippa ( Marshall Levin) to Alan Chapman (Everybody Wants to be Sondheim) and many more besides in Stephen Sondheim Society's GOD. As part of the 20th anniversary celebration of the Stephen Sondheim Society, we will be paying tribute to Mr Sondheim and his genius, with a collection of material which affectionately celebrates and reflects our love for the great man himself in a brand new show GOD, premiering at London Theatre Workshop for only 6 performances this July.

Rehearsals are now well underway for GOD, the 20th anniversary celebration show from the Stephen Sondheim Society, which pays tribute to Mr Sondheim and his genius.

The passion, complexity and pure joy of singing SONDHEIM knows no bounds for a performer, but for the 12 finalists of this year's The Stephen Sondheim Society Student Performer Of The Year Competition 2014 (SSSSPOTY), all will be revealed as they sing their hearts out competing for the title on SUNDAY 18 MAY at 3pm at the West End's GARRICK THEATRE. As if that weren't enough for them to sing in one afternoon, at SONDHEIM's request, the 12 finalists will also be singing the 12 new musical songs that are competing for The Stiles & Drewe Best New Song Prize.
