A brand new production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's classic THE SOUND OF MUSIC launched its national tour at the Center Theatre Group / Ahmanson Theatre last night, September 30 at 8 p.m. Directed by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien, the production closes in Los Angeles on October 31, 2015, and will then tour North America for multiple seasons, playing multi-week and week-long engagements. Yesterday, The Tony Awards hosted 'Broadway in Hollywood,' a cocktail party to toast the Broadway community in Los Angeles. The night paid tribute to the honorees of past Tony Awards and friends from the Great White Way. The Hollywood Arts Council presented their 28th Annual Charlie Awards Luncheon in theBlossom Room of the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, home of the first Academy Awards ceremony, at a Sold Out event on Friday, April 25, 2014. Shauna McClure, Executive Director of the Hollywood Arts Council said: "This was the record breaking year of all time in the Hollywood Arts Council's 36-year history.
