After being waylaid by the pandemic for the in-person events in 2021 and 2022, SF Sketchfest, the San Francisco Comedy Festival, will celebrate its 20th Anniversary January 20 - February 5, 2023, in venues across San Francisco.

Filmmakers Academy, the recently launched learning platform where professionals and novices alike can find the tools and resources to master their craft, announces a new course featuring master colorist David Cole (Dune, The Batman, Tron Legacy, Life of Pi). The course, 'Color Grading: LUT Theory & Creation' is now available to Filmmakers Academy members online and via the app.

For the first time in its 12-year history, the San Francisco-based PianoFight will present The Finals of the nation's largest, audience-judged theater competition, ShortLived VIII, at American Conservatory Theater's Strand Theater. The Finals' performances at The Strand will wrap up a nine week competition, featuring over 200 Bay Area artists creating 48 world premiere plays, staged for over 2,000 audience members who score each production. The group that scores the highest at the end of The Finals will be crowned the ShortLived VIII champion and awarded a $5,000 cash prize.

Since George Washington took office in 1783, writing letters to the President has provided citizens of all ages, races, political parties, and backgrounds an outlet to express their most personal concerns, hopes, and dreams. Letters to the President reimagines this archival canon of letters as a multi-composer song cycle, with each song inspired by an individual letter in the archive.

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has today announced the nominations for the 2019 Virgin Media British Academy Television Awards and British Academy Television Craft Awards. These awards reward the very best in television craft and television programmes broadcast in the UK in 2018. The Virgin Media British Academy Television Awards ceremony will be held at the Royal Festival Hall on Sunday 12 May with the British Academy Television Craft Awards taking place two weeks earlier on Sunday 28 April at The Brewery, London.

PlayGround concludes the 25th season of its celebrated Monday Night PlayGround staged reading series with a special evening of environmental-inspired plays as part of the 5th annual PLANET EARTH ARTS NEW PLAY FESTIVAL on Monday, April 1, 8 PM at Berkeley Repertory Theatre.
