The Queen's Theatre Hornchurch is set to stage a refreshing take of Willy Russell's classic comedy Educating Rita, with Rita being portrayed as an 'Essex girl', instead of being Liverpudlian. It runs at the theatre from 22 April - 13 May.

Danielle Flett (Doctor Faustus, Duke of Yorks; Vera Vera Vera, Royal Court), Morgan Watkins (Silent Witness, BBC; Suffragette), George Whitehead (Love's Labour's Lost, Oxford Shakespeare Company) and Daniel Kendrick (Fury, Soho Theatre; Call The Midwife, BBC) have been cast in The Monkey by John Stanley.

Glory Whispers by Sonya Hale and The Monkey by John Stanley are part of Homecomings - a festival of new work by prisoners and ex-prisoners about getting out and going home by Synergy Theatre Project in association with Theatre503.

Mercury Theatre Colchester has announced the casting line-up for their Made in Colchester production of Shakespeare's comic battle of the sexes, Much Ado About Nothing. This saucy new production of the romantic comedy will be set in a modern-day garrison town and plays from Friday 30 September until Saturday 15 October.  

There are just three weeks left to see Game of Thrones star Kit Harington on stage in the title role of Doctor Faustus at the Duke of York's Theatre, London. New dates have also been confirmed, which include Birmingham New Alexandra Theatre, Cardiff's Wales Millennium Centre, Glasgow King's Theatre and the Wycombe Swan.
