Marin Shakespeare to Present Readings Butterworth & Kirkwood Plays By Actors' Reading Collective This Month


In July ACTORS' READING COLLECTIVE (ARC) is presenting two premiere play readings on July 10th and July 31st at Marin Shakespeare Company. Both readings begin at 7 pm.

All readings begin at 7 pm.  ARC’s mission is to share the artistic, spiritual, and emotional passion uniquely inherent to theater and storytelling.

Marin Shakespeare Company Announces 2018 Season


Marin Shakespeare Company, Marin County's only professional Shakespeare theatre, announces its 2018 outdoor summer season - a season exploring complex and compelling men and women. Presented under the summer stars, Marin Shakespeare's 29th season includes "Hamlet," "Shakespeare's Will," a spirited and sensual imagining of the life of Anne Hathaway by Canadian playwright Vern Thiessen, and "Pericles." The 2018 season is in partial repertory, with performances beginning in May and ending early August. There will be some Thursday evening performances this year. The theatre plans to make major renovations to the Forest Meadows Amphitheatre following the 2018 summer season.

Cutting Ball Theater Presents THE MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR for Hidden Classics Reading Series Today


Cutting Ball Theater presents the fourth installment of this season's Hidden Classics Reading Series. The fat, fun-loving character of Falstaff is considered by many to be one of Shakespeare's greatest inventions. Perhaps the biggest fan was Queen Elizabeth, who insisted that Shakespeare write a play that featured Falstaff after he killed him off in Henry V; THE MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR is the result of that request. The reading will take place today, March 24, 2013.

San Francisco's cutting-edge Cutting Ball Theater ushers in the new year with the first offerings of the company's year-long celebration of the centennial of August Strindberg's death; the company will honor the playwright's vast career throughout 2012 with symposiums, lectures, and staged readings of his works as part of the Hidden Classics Reading Series and RISK IS THIS…The Cutting Ball New Experimental Plays Festival, culminating in a festival of fully-staged new translations of Strindberg's five Chamber Plays, entitled Strindberg Cycle: The Chamber Plays in Rep, in October of 2012.
