Cast Set For ANGELS IN AMERICA at Provincetown Theater


Opening the 2024 season on May 9 at the Provincetown Theater in Provincetown, MA is a 30th anniversary mounting of Tony Kushner’s Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning classic, Angels in America, Part I: Millennium Approaches.

Stage Left Studio Kicks Off 7th Annual Left Out Festival Today


What do you get when you mix 14 playwrights, 50 performers doing 30 plays in 18 days? This year's 7th Annual Left Out Festival, a tasty, spiked punch full of plays about Cowboy Bars, OraQuick, Homophobia, Tap-Dancing Lesbians, Cartoons, Plastic Bags, Bullying, Showbiz, Racism, Murder, Lesbian Camp Counselors and (gasp!) Narcissism all stirred with a Big Gay Swizzle Stick. The fun begins on April 14th and continues through May 5th at Stage Left Studio, 214 West 30th St. 6th floor. As always, The Left Out Festival proceeds will benefit Bailey House.

American poet Hart Crane (1899 - 1932) stands sometimes unsteadily in the pantheon of American literature. Adored by the likes of Tennessee Williams and Harold Bloom, Crane's works and tumultuous life continue to fascinate and intrigue readers 80 years after his suicide in 1932. Using Crane's poetry, letters, and original work based on events of his life, Justin Sayre (The Meeting*, Night of a Thousand Judys) creates a life scape for the troubled poet, in his new work, A Rite Of Water: An American Passion PlayStarring Chris Tyler, Nicholas Gorham, Ryan Streit, and Alston Brown on Saturday, October 26th, 4pm at Jalopy Theater - 315 Columbia Street, Red Hook Brooklyn off the Carroll Street F/G.

The Brown University/Trinity Rep MFA Programs Present ROMEO & JULIET, 5/7-19


The Brown University/Trinity Rep MFA Programs will present a dramatic reinvention of the Shakespearian classic Romeo and Juliet, directed by Ryan Purcell (Brown/Trinity Rep MFA Programs '13). Experience this timeless tale of forbidden passion in a new way: a world filled with violence, jealousy, and ultimately loss transformed. Performances are May 7 through May 19 in the Citizens Bank Theater, Pell Chafee Performance Center, 87 Empire Street, Providence. Trinity Rep opens its 49th season this month with Shakespeare's sweeping tragedy King Lear, a co-production with The Dallas Theater Center (DTC) and directed by DTC artistic director Kevin Moriarty. When the aging King Lear decides to divide his power between his three daughters, the results are devastating to the family - and the country. Driven by flattery, foolishness, ambition and greed, each generation soon betrays another and even nature itself revolts. King Lear runs through October 21 in Trinity Rep's intimate Dowling Theater.
