An innocent bloomer blunder brings domestic chaos in Steve Martin's The Underpants, Perseverance Theatre's 40th anniversary season finale, running May 17-June 16.

It was a cold night in the City of Emeralds. The kind of cold where your words just hung in the air as you spoke. Lucky for me and the other patrons of Cafe Nordo, the doors would soon open. Once inside a sultry dame looked me up and down and uttered the word I'd been waiting all night to hear, "Name?" Then another dame led me to my table plied me with drinks and food and thus began my journey into Book-It Repertory Theatre's sumptuous mystery dining experience of Dashiell Hammett's "The Maltese Falcon". An experience that may not make me wealthy as the only falcon I found was a gold dusted cookie (which was delicious) but I certainly left the place richer after having seen one of my favorite Nordo and Book-It shows to date.

This winter, Book-It Repertory Theatre and Caf Nordo pair up once again for a theatrical culinary collaboration. After a resounding success with A Moveable Feastlast year, both companies are elated to bring audiences a sexy, shadowy evening of mystery with Dashiell Hammett's The Maltese Falcon. A multi-course meal will deliciously underscore a signature Book-It theatrical experience.

I would say that I loved every second of Book-It Repertory Theatre's current adaptation of David James Duncan's 'The Brothers K, Part One: Strike Zones' if it weren't for all the damned onions someone was cutting in the theater. What? There were no onions? So then I was just repeatedly tearing up over the story? Oh, well then, I guess I can say it. Yup, with its beautiful adaptation and stunningly honest performances, I loved every second of Book-It Repertory Theatre's current adaptation of David James Duncan's 'The Brothers K, Part One: Strike Zones'.

Mid-Michigan's award winning professional theatre company, Williamston Theatre, located at 122 S. Putnam Street in downtown Williamston, starts 2016 with Too Much, Too Much, Too Many by Meghan Kennedy.  Performances begin Thursday, January 28 and run through Sunday, February 28.  Tickets for this bittersweet yet touchingly funny drama go on sale Tuesday, January 28.

The Williamston Theatre will present a staged reading of the comedy Additional Particulars by Ed Simpson on Sunday, July 26 at 7pm. From what I could remember seeing the stage version of 'A Christmas Carol', by Charles Dickens, years ago I loved the classic tale that reminds us about the importance of the spirit of Christmas at this time of year. However recently being let down with Disney's film version of the show I wasn't overly excited to see this holiday story again so soon this season. I am pleased to say that after seeing Meadow Brook Theater's production of 'A Christmas Carol' my faith in the all time classic has been restored.
