Tickets are now on sale for Desert Ensemble Theatre's 3nd Annual DETC Season Opening Gala. The Friday, November 18 event features a pre-show reception at 6pm followed by a 7pm performance of Boys' Night Out, a revue of eclectic songs from musical theatre, cabaret, and popular music. The event takes place at the Pearl McManus Theater in the Palm Springs Woman's Club at 314 S. Cahuilla Road. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased in advance through the company's website, www.detctheatre.org, or by calling (760) 565-2476 to reserve and pay at the door.

Boys' Night Out features three of the Desert's most accomplished musical theatre talents-Doug Graham, Charles Herrera, andJerome Elliott-under the music direction of Charlie Creasy.

Elliott, who also directs, stated: "I am delighted to create another season opener for DETC. This event raises awareness of our high school theater internship program and the net proceeds fund scholarships for two of our Palm Springs High School interns who are going on to pursue college-level theatre studies. It is gratifying to see the progress of our past scholarship recipients who are now in college or working in theatre, television or film."

Doug Graham has performed in the National Touring and Broadway companies of Bob Fosse's Dancin', A Chorus Line, CATS, Andrew Lloyd Weber's Phantom Of The Opera, and Chicago with Chita Rivera and Ben Vereen. Charles Herrera is an award-winning singer, actor, cabaret artist and entertainer who performs at several venues in the Palm Springs area, as well as in the successful musical tribute show,Palm Springs Jump Too!, playing monthly at Michael Holmes' Purple Room. Jerome Elliott is known for his highly original cabaret shows, which he has performed in the Desert and toured to New York, Seattle, St. Louis and Los Angeles. As musical director, accompanist and composer, Charlie Creasy has worked throughout the U.S. in nightclubs, theatres and aboard cruise ships.

DETC's season continues from Feb. 3-5 & 10-12 with Expressions, a new drama by Shawn Abramowitz about PTSD and its cascading effect on both veterans and their families. From Mar. 17-19 & 24-26 the company performs Lovesport, a fast-paced comedy by award winning playwright Tony Padilla.
