Get swept away by an all-star cast in Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma's lush production of A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, which runs today, August 5 through 9 at the Civic Center Music Hall. The show, which features the popular song "Send in the Clowns", stars Broadway's own Dee Hoty and George Dvorsky. Called "heady, civilized, sophisticated and enchanting" by the New York Times, Lyric's production is directed by artistic director Michael Baron and includes an original scenic design, new costumes, and a full orchestra.

"The show is full of beautiful waltzes, biting humor, and romantic interludes," said Michael Baron, Lyric's artistic director and director of A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC. "The cast we've assembled is a dream one. I love the famous Judy Collins version of 'Send in the Clowns,' but to hear the song within the show it was written for gives it new meaning and poignancy. "

Dee Hoty has been nominated for three Tony Awards for her work in THE WILL ROGERS FOLLIES, THE BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE GOES PUBLIC, and FOOTLOOSE. She will play the free-spirited actress Desiree Armfeldt. Other Broadway credits include BYE BYE BIRDIE and MAMMA MIA!. Playing opposite Hoty will be George Dvorsky as Fredrick Egerman. Dvorsky was recently seen in the Oklahoma City Philharmonic's THE CHRISTMAS SHOW, and on Broadway in THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL.

Michael Baron will direct this new production, with an original set, costumes, props, and more. The set is designed by Adam Koch, who previously designed BIG RIVER and TARZAN for Lyric. Koch is a 2009 Helen Hayes Award nominee for Stage Design and designed the critically acclaimed MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET in Chicago. Jeffrey Meek, Lyric's resident costume designer, will design the costumes. Meek has worked with Lyric for over 15 years, and has worked with other theatres across the country.

David Andrews Rogers, who has worked with Lyric since 1993, will be musical director and conduct the full orchestra. Other members of the creative team include Courtney Strong as props designer, Helena Kuukka as lighting designer, Toby Algya as sound designer, and Cindy Ludwig of Elsen Associates as hair designer. Jeremy Benton will choreograph and Julie Meyer will stage manage.

Tickets to all of Lyric's 2014 shows are now on sale, and start at $35. To buy tickets, visit Lyric's box office at 1727 NW 16th Street, call (405) 524-9312 or visit LyricTheatreOKC.com. Performances will be held at the Civic Center Music Hall on Tuesday through Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., and Saturday at 2 p.m.

Founded in 1963, Lyric is Oklahoma's leading professional theatre company. For over 50 years, Lyric has produced classic and contemporary musicals and plays featuring both nationally known Broadway stars and local favorites. Lyric produces four large-scale, fully orchestrated musicals at the Civic Center Music Hall each summer, as well as four smaller works at the Plaza Theatre during the spring, fall and winter. Lyric's Thelma Gaylord Academy is a professional training ground for students ages 5-18 offering classes in all aspects of musical theatre. Academy students have the opportunity to perform in two full-scale productions each year on the Plaza Theatre stage.
