A group of space people with fabulous hair respond to trash intrusions in their environment. The characters interact with video projections and with set pieces resembling space scrap metal that build up and break down throughout the performance.

A collaborative creation of San Francisco artists in contemporary dance, video art, electronic music, and sculpture.

In addition to the live version, a 30 minute dance for camera will be available online in late 2010.

RESURRECTION brings short-lived dance back from the dead. Artists re-present and engage in audience Q&A about the evolution of the work. Resurrection is curated by Alexandra Albrecht.

"Space Garbage" is presented by LizZieMoVeS Co. (Artistic Director, Lizzie Karr) with the support of RAW (resident artist workshop) at The Garage, a black box theater located in San Francisco's SoMa district. The company showed in-progress versions of "Space Garbage" at The Garage in October and November 2009, and will premiere the completed production in March 2010. Excerpts of "Space Garbage" have also appeared at San Francisco's OMI Festival and Dance Innovations Performance Foundation's "Pushing Limits" at the Merce Cunningham Studios. LizZieMoVeS is honored to perform at the Tank this May and has also been invited to perform "Space Garbage" at the Church Center for the United Nations in response to issues surrounding space trash and climate change.

LizZieMoVeS Co. is a dance and multimedia performance company dedicated to the work and the play of movement, and to promoting social change through collaborative performance. The company supports the creation and production of contemporary dance, music, video art, and sculptural installation. Lizzie Karr, Artistic and Executive Director, graduated from NYU with a BFA in Dance in 2007, then began LizZieMoVeS in NYC where the company appeared in guest performances at the Merce Cunningham Studios, and in several commissioned works for the United Nations. Other commissions have included "Charged" (Portland), MOVE (Tacoma), Ten Tiny Dances (Portland and Tacoma), Portland Jazz Festival, and OMI Festival (San Francisco). In 2008, Lizzie directed, choreographed, and produced "Daisy B's Exploding Red Tomatoes" in collaboration with videographer, installation and time based artist Jason Bahling. In 2009, Lizzie and Jason created their first Dance for Camera, "Elle." The company is now located in San Francisco.
