The Sound, an original play about wizards, will end its run at the 13th Street Rep on April 11, 2010. Written by Sam Alper, directed by Dan Rogers. Produced by Brian Williams.

Following the suspicious death of their parents, Lyle, Lyle 2 and Chris must live with their uncle Claude in his creepy house. But what are all these wands doing everywhere? Isn't this how Narnia starts? And what's this Tom Hanks thing? Come see Sam Alper's Meta-MoBetta Wizardsgonnagetcha new play about young men, young women and whether magic can be for real in this world or not.

THE COLLECTIN
In August of 2009, Alden Ehrenreich and Zoe Worth started The Collectin, a theater and film company of 35 college age directors, actors, writers, and artists. The Collectin has met every Sunday for "workshop," in which we experiment with improvisational techniques from our vast and varied backgrounds. Over these last eight months, one of our best writers has crafted a play to the strengths of our actors that have manifested in our time together. This play is "THE SOUND", a sad comedy...about Wizards!

ALDEN EHRENREICH (Actor/The Collectin Co-Founder) is an actor and student attending NYU's Gallatin School of Individualized Study with the concentration "Journalistic Principles in Art". He has
been acting since he was 3 years old. He has worked professionally since the age of 14, with guest spots on Supernatural, CSI, a small part in Sofia Coppola's upcoming Somewhere (2011), and the
leading role of Bennie in Francis Ford Coppola's latest film, Tetro (2009). He has been working
with Cameron Thor at the Carter Thor Studio in Los Angeles for five years. He has also attended various acting studios, programs, and NYU's Stella Adler Conservatory. He has directed
several short films and short plays. In August of 2009, he directed and acted in Na
Nach Nachma Nachman, a night of works by Sam Alper in Los Angeles. In August of 2009, he co-founded The Collectin with Zoe Worth. He is from Los Angeles.

SAM ALPER (Writer) is a playwright from Los Angeles currently studying at Brown University. He has
studied with Greg Moss, Ann-Marie Healy, Erik Ehn and Lisa D'Amour. His plays have been produced at The Deland Theater Festival, Brown's Production Workshop and previously by the Collectin. He is a founding member of B.U.D.S. Brown's first experimental sketch group. His short films have been featured in the WYFF, S.N.O.B. and LA Film Festivals. This is his second play about wizards.

DAN ROGERS (Director) is a Brooklyn-based director, producer, actor and tech director. He holds a BA in Theatre Arts from Brown University, where he received the Weston Fine Arts Award for Directing.Director: Clap on, Clap Off (Strawberry One-Act Fest., nom. Best Director), at Brown: Reckless, The Skin of Our Teeth, The Revengers Tragedy and many more. Producer: Butterfly, Butterfly, Kill Kill Kill! (The Brick Fight Fest), Piccola Cosi (soloNOVA).Actor: BBKKK!, The Three Sisters(Columbia). TD: The Confidence Man (Woodshed Collective), Lights Out Malfi (art.party.theatre.company), Be Brave, Anna! (FringeNYC). He will be co-directing an evening of one-acts at A.R.T.'s South Oxford Space on May 7th and 8th with his Production Company, MADE OF LIONS! This summer, he is co-curating Theatron5000: A Robot Theatre Festival.

ZOE WORTH (Actor/The Collectin Co-Founder) is an actress pursuing her BFA in Acting at NYU. She is a proud member of Tisch School of the Arts' Experimental Theatre Wing. She also studies and
performs improv with The Groundlings in Los Angeles, and Upright Citizens Brigade in LA
and New York. She has had the privilege of studying with an amazing array of teachers and artists throughout the years, including most recently Tim Robbins, at his theatre company The Actors' Gang, which now serves as her theatrical home. In August of 2009, she performed as Mona Lisa in Na Nach Nachma Nachman, a night of works by Sam Alper. That same summer, she co-founded The Collectin with Alden Ehrenreich.

Brian Williams (Producer) is a Sophomore in NYU's Gallatin School of Individualized Study. He became interesting in producing during the summer of 2009 when he co-produced Na
Nach Nachma Nachman, a night of works by Sam Alper. In addition to producing, Brian has interned for Hillary Clinton's campaigns, United Talent Agency, Focus Features, Saturday Night Live, and The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien. He also loves his dog, hiking, and Murray's Cheese
sandwiches. He is from Los Angeles.
