Cady Huffman to Direct New Musical CITY OF LIGHT at SheNYC Festival

Cady Huffman, winner of the 2001 TONY Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical for her show-stopping performance in The Producers, will direct the New York City premiere of City of Light: A New Musical to be presented as a part of the SheNYC Summer Theater Festival July 6-16, 2016 at the Connelly Theater.

City of Light centers around Molly: an organized, responsible, by-the-book young woman who always has a to-do list and a plan. On the morning before her 25th birthday, we find Molly packing for Paris - the trip her late father had always wanted to take her on. After her fiance is forced to stay behind for a work emergency and her luggage gets dropped into the Seine, she's left with no money, no ID, no hotel or language skills and she must rely on her own chutzpah and the kindness of a French family to help her. She soon learns that maybe there's more to life than the seemingly perfect home she left behind in California. City of Light is a charming new musical of self-discovery, friendship, and listening to your heart.

City of Light features a book by Gabrielle Wagner, music by Jan Roper, and lyrics by Julie Weiner. Additional information regarding casting, production team, and tickets will be announced in the coming weeks.

The SheNYC Summer Theater Festival is New York City's only festival devoted to producing full-length plays, musicals, and adaptations by women writers annually.
