The Lion, the gripping, highly acclaimed autobiographical solo show written and performed by Benjamin Scheuer, will begin performances tomorrow, Tuesday, February 3rd at the Lynn Redgrave Theater at Culture Project (45 Bleecker Street), with an official opening night set for Sunday, February 8th. Directed by Sean Daniels, The Lion will play an extended engagement Off-Broadway through March 29th, following an award-winning run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and sold-out productions at the Manhattan Theatre Club and London's St. James Theatre.

Producer Eva Price is excited to announce an exclusive mobile lottery for $10 tickets to The Lion via TodayTix, New York's theater ticketing app, which is available in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. The entry period will begin each day at midnight, and continue until winners are notified via push notification 3-4 hours before the selected performance begins. Winners will be offered the opportunity to purchase $10 tickets, and can pick up their tickets from the Lynn Redgrave Theater box office. Lottery tickets and seat locations are subject to availability.

"We are thrilled to be working with TodayTix, which is helping bring a new audience of young, hip theatergoers off-Broadway to The Lion. This will be one of only three shows where you can sign up for a lottery by using your phone from the comfort of your own home, avoiding the winter weather," said Price.

Some stories have to be sung. A good storyteller uses everything he has. So Benjamin Scheuer uses his guitar -- actually, six guitars -- in The Lion, a wholly original downtown musical experience that tells one man's gripping coming-of-age story. The award-winning songwriter inspires and disarms with his raw wit and emotional depth as he leads you on a rock n' roll journey from boyhood to manhood, through pain and healing, to discover the redemptive power of music. Much like its hero, The Lion roars.

The Lion will play the following performance schedule: Wednesdays at 7:30 PM, Thursdays at 7:30 PM, Fridays at 8 PM, Saturdays at 5 PM & 8 PM, Sunday at 3 PM. Tickets are $26 - $75 and are now available via www.TheLionMusical.com.

The Lion is presented Off-Broadway at the Lynn Redgrave Theater by Eva Price, Stacey Mindich, Warner/Chappell Music, Tom McGrath, Spruce Lake Theatrical, Jamie DeRoy/Haley Swindal/Dan Shaheen, Scott M. Delman, and Robert Kraft.
