The annual student performance from the Norwegian National Ballet School brings pearls of dance, an abundance of talent and a genuine delight in dance. Around 100 dancers aged 8–16 years celebrate the end of the academic year with choreographies within classical ballet, modern dance and character dance. There will also be tasters from the classical ballet repertoire, with students from the ballet talents programme given at Ruseløkka School.
The Norwegian National Ballet School celebrated its 50th jubilee in 2015, with a performance in the Main House. It returns this year to Second House, possibly with greater self-confidence and delight in dance than ever before.
“A flock of children running and dancing on the stage in the most beautiful costumes I have seen for a long time," read a description of the student performance in a theatre blog in 2011: "What affected me most, however, was the sheer joy of the children: they were smiling from ear to ear.”
